  11. Batchconverter is an AREXX script (Lame icon included) that allows you to use
  12. ADPro 2.5+ to batch process a directory full of pictures, converting
  13. them all to a single type. The program will accept whatever formats ADPro
  14. recognizes, (Lots), and gives the user a choice of IFF, GIF, or JPEG outputs.
  15. Once the program is started from the shell or by clicking on the icon,
  16. all user input is obtained through requesters.

  18. For writing IFF pictures, the user can choose the number of colors,
  19. interlaced or not, and in the case of HAM output, whether to shrink the
  20. pictures in half horizontally.

  22. If JPEG output is selected, the user is prompted to enter the "Quality"
  23. setting, (1-1000), which determines the final quality/size of the
  24. finished pictures.

  26. For GIF output, the pictures are automatically rendered in 256 colors.

  28. I've tried to make this program give plenty of feedback in case of error
  29. conditions, and suggestions in the docs in case of problems.
