  1. This is a test GPFax 2.350 Class 2 update patch.
  2.  
  3. It fixes a couple of problems such as the Leap Year bug,
  4. adds better support for Cybergraphics and RTG systems and
  5. adds the ability to run with Class 2.0 modems. Note that I
  6. have found a number of inconsistancies when using various Class 2.0
  7. modems from USR. If the 2.0 version does not function well,
  8. please revert to using the Class 1 verson. There is very little
  9. difference in actuality. Class 2 is just a superset of Class 1.

  12. Notes for GPFax Class 2/2.0 version 2.350

  15. All previous tooltypes and CLI codes are still supported plus the following

  20. run gpfax     -MUSR2.0
  21.         -KCLASS2.0  KCLASS2
  22.         -H7WIRE or -HXONXOFF

  28.     FAXCLASS = CLASS2.0  or CLASS2

  32. Only the MODEMTYPE command is needed if used with USR modems.

  34. If you use the MODEMTYPE or -M , then this will override the -K -H commands.
  35. Be careful of the order in which the program reads the settings. For example,
  36. putting -M AFTER -K will cause the faxclass setting to be overridden.

  41. Known Problems
  42. --------------

  44. With the USR modems,
  45.  
  46. 1.    the class 2.0 has some problems when sending. The modem
  47. generates non-reproducable responses at certain times and will appear to have
  48. sent the page when actuall it has sent absolutely nothing.  
  49.  
  50. 2.    USR  modems report 'strange' error in 2/10 attempts for no apparent
  51.     reasons.

  54. With Zyxel modems
  55.  
  56.     Class 2.0 works very quite well but cannot send to Supra modems.
  57.     Fax received by Supra is garbled.

  63. To update your original program.

  65. ENSURE YOU ARE WORKING WITH A COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL PROGRAM.

  68. To apply the patch, execute the following line from the CLI
  69.  
  70.     cd RAM:
  71.  
  72.     copy GPFAX:GPFax RAM:old
  73.  
  74.     spatch -oGPFax.350 -pG2347c2.pch old
  75.  
  76. This will create the new version of GPFax 2.350 as file GPFax.2350. 
  77. Then copy the new file to your GPFAX: directory as GPFax.

  79.     rename GPFax:GPFax GPFax:GPfax.2347

  81.     copy ram:GPFax.350 GPFax:GPFax  clone
