  6. ShapeShifter is a multitasking shareware Macintosh-II emulator for
  7. the Amiga computer. It allows to run Macintosh software concurrently
  8. to Amiga applications without hardware add-ons or modifications.
  9.  
  10. Some of the emulation's features:
  11.  
  12.  - Color display up to 256 colors on AGA Amigas (16 colors on ECS)
  13.    and up to 16.7 million colors on graphics cards
  14.  - Support for one or two monitors
  15.  - No MMU required, even runs on A1200
  16.  - Macintosh hard disks can be simulated in Amiga files or Amiga
  17.    hard disk partitions
  18.    [unregistered version has no hard disk partition support]
  19.  - Can use Amiga floppy drives, serial, parallel and SCSI ports
  20.    from the Mac
  21.    [use of SCSI not possible in unregistered version]
  22.  - Mac HD disks can be read directly with an HD floppy drive,
  23.    Mac 720K disks can be used with any Amiga floppy drive. To use
  24.    Mac 800K disks, you have to own CrossMAC and an original Mac drive

  32. Requirements:
  33.  
  34. OS2.1, 68020 processor, 4MB of RAM, HD floppy drive recommended.
  35. A copy of a Macintosh 512K or 1MB ROM and the Macintosh system
  36. software are not included, but required. The ROM can be read off
  37. of a real Mac by using a supplied program, the system software
  38. can be bought from Apple. Note, however, that reading the ROM is
  39. only legal if you have bought the ROMs or own a real Macintosh.

  43.  - A workaround for the mfm.device bug
  44.  - The utility "SSOktaPatch" for users of Oktagon/AT-Bus 2008/
  45.    AlfaPower/TandemAT/ALF2/ALF3 controllers having problems with
  46.    DeviceDisks and SCSI access (see the README in the archive
  47.    "SSOktaPatch.lha")
  48.  - Completely new SCSI settings
  49.  - Phase 2 of the new SCSI routines: Direct transfers
  50.  - ShapeShifter can be used with a two-monitor setup
  51.  - The Merlin and Picasso support has moved into external drivers.
  52.    There is now also a driver for the "Graffity" video system.
  53.  - Improved Ethernet driver
  54.  - Full 68060 support, including MMU refresh
  55.  - Support for pre-emptive threads (yes, you CAN have pre-emptive
  56.    multitasking on a Mac)
  57.  - Owners of A-Max II+/IV can use the serial ports on the card
  58.  - Fixed the Mac-Handler (no more "Destination file removed")
  59.  - The Mac's sound output can be disabled completely
