  25.   Features of the editor core: Unlimited  configurable  undo/redo,  configurable
  26.   syntax  highlighting  (e.g.  C++,  Pascal,  Assembler,  HTML or E-Mail), macro
  27.   recording,  nested  folding,  modes  (filetypes  management:   filetypes   are
  28.   recognized  and  control the environment). Drag & Drop is supported: move text
  29.   using your mouse.

  31.   Features of the user interface: configurable toolbar below  the  window  title
  32.   bar, asynchronous requesters. Notebooks simplify configuration. Windows can be
  33.   hidden (frozen) temporarily. Ability  to  open  windows  on  multiple  screens
  34.   simulatenously  (or  to  open  multiple  screens simultaneously). Window-local
  35.   configuration: every window can use a different menu,  different  fonts,  etc.
  36.   Configurable  look  and  feel:  fonts,  colors,  size  of window borders, line
  37.   spacing in editor window, user-defined gadgets in window's title bar, etc. can
  38.   be  adjusted.  Programmable  keyboard, programmable menus, programmable mouse,
  39.   programmable gadgets, programmable toolbar. Other features:  built-in  printer
  40.   spooler, built-in source level debugger support (breakpoints display).

  42.   Optional input aids:  IntelliSense  (words  are  completed  depending  on  the
  43.   context),  phrase  completion (words are completed depending on a dictionary),
  44.   AutoCase (spelling is corrected depending on a dictionary), context  sensitive
  45.   indention  (indention  depending  on  keywords) and templates (input stream is
  46.   monitored and can  trigger  special  actions).  Layout-related  features:  all
  47.   standard formatting functions are supported, including WordWrap.

  49.   Programmer  support:  Online   help.   Project   management.   Built-in   fast
  50.   configurable  references  system  for AutoDocs, includes, sourcecodes, guides,
  51.   etc. Automatic online bracket highlighting: matching  bracket  is  highlighted
  52.   while  typing.  Automatic  online  checks  verify  that  brackets  are  nested
  53.   correctly. Configurable scanners (programmable quick function search) list all
  54.   functions,  defines,  labels  etc. defined in your source codes. Built-in grep
  55.   support allows you to search across multiple files (and to "touch"  files)  or
  56.   to  search  files  on  your disk(s). Session support saves the environment and
  57.   allows you to continue your work later.

  59.   Additional tools: The  HiSpeed  PCL  printing  utility  supports  printing  of
  60.   multi-column  documents.  Features  include  a  preview  function,  book  mode
  61.   printing, label printing and ARexx capabilities.

  63. UPGRADE NOTES

  65.   The GoldED 4 trial version should not be installed over GoldED 3  (registered)
  66.   until you have obtained a new keyfile. The GoldED 3 keyfile has been hacked by
  67.   several people - thanks - and is no longer supported. The GoldED 4 keyfile  is
  68.   made available to registered GoldED users free of charge if you have purchased
  69.   GoldED after 1/1/1996. Instruction on how to order your free keyfile  as  well
  70.   as  information  on  how  to upgrade packages recieved before this date can be
  71.   found in the GoldED manual.

  83.   The unregistered trial version version may be made available  for  downloading
  84.   by online services - e.g. ftp sites - if the package is made available free of
  85.   charge. No other forms of distribution are allowed  unless  you  have  written
  86.   permision  of  the  copyright  owners,  including,  but not limited to, CD ROM
  87.   distribution or cover disks.
