  1.                        The Mac File System for the Amiga
  2.  
  3. CrossMAC  is  an Amiga software product allowing you to read and write
  4. Mac  formatted  disks directly from Amiga.  It fully integrates itself
  5. into  the  Amiga operating system allowing your Mac formatted disks to
  6. be accessed from virtually any utility or application.
  7.  
  8. A  properly  configured  CrossMAC  device will allow you to access any
  9. file  on  an  Mac  formatted disk from any Amiga application.  Imagine
  10. creating a TIFF graphics file on your Mac and bringing it over to your
  11. Amiga  to  convert  it  to IFF graphics.  Other file types that can be
  12. exchanged  include databases, spreadsheets, language compilers and CAD
  13. programs, to name a few.

  15. Mac formatted disks (HFS) are supported with following hardware:
  16.     ·   Low-density, 800K floppies with either the Amax cartridge and
  17.         a Mac 800K drive or the Amax II plus/Amax IV cards and
  18.         standard Amiga floppies.
  19.     ·   High-density, 1.44M floppies with an Amiga-compatible 
  20.         high-density drive.
  21.     ·   Hard drives with the appropriate Amiga hard drive controller.
  22.     ·   Mac HFS-formatted CD-ROMs with the appropriate Amiga hard drive
  23.         controller.
  24. Quasi-Mac formatted disks (HFS) are supported with the standard Amiga
  25. hardware:
  26.     ·   Low-density, Amax 800K floppies.
  27.     ·   Low-density, Emplant 800K floppies.
  28.     ·   Amax and Emplant hard drive partitions.
  29. Other features:
  30.     ·   Support of both Mac data and resource `forks' as separate files.
  31.     ·   Amiga <-> Mac translation of international text characters.
  32.     ·   Disk changes are sensed automatically (if the drive provides
  33.         the proper hardware signal).
  34.     ·   Mac icons automatically displayed under Workbench.
  35.     ·   Utilities to format, copy and check the integrity of Mac disks.
  36.     ·   File salvation utility to try to recover files from a corrupted
  37.         Mac disk.
  38.     ·   Transparent support of MacBinary files.
  39.     ·   Not copy protected.
