  1. DiskProtection is out now for nearly one year, but still
  2. very few people have paid the shareware fee. I often get
  3. phone calls from people not registered, so I know that
  4. there are regular users not paying. This is probably due to
  5. the fact that DiskProtection was not crippled in any way
  6. and after your registration you received nothing but a
  7. heartly "thank you".

  9. This is the reason why I decided to introduce a new
  10. "feature": a registration requester ;-)
  11. This requester will pop up every time the diskprot.device
  12. is initialized or the prefs program is started until you
  13. enter and save the registration number you will get in
  14. return for your registration and your full address.

  16. There are still no other restrictions, but this is likely
  17. to change in future versions if the number of registrations
  18. does not increase. Right now the shareware fee is still (in
  19. my eyes very moderate) $10, 20DM or any other equivalent
  20. amount. The next version will be drastically improved and
  21. the fee is going to increase accordingly. So register now!
  22. You will get your personal registration number and can
  23. choose to get update notifications, support and updates per
  24. email. See "Docs/English/DP_Registration" for details.

  26. The next version will be V2.0. The major planned features:
  27. - a real sensation:
  28.   start DiskProtection from the RDB, i.e. it will be
  29.   possible to encrypt the boot partition, too
  30. - speedup of operation
  31. - reduced size of the diskprot.device
