- 0. Introduction
-
- Cleanup is a little utility that removes empty files and dirs
- from your drives.
- This can be pretty useful if some dirs/files could not be
- deleted at one session (e.g. they are still in use) and after
- some days or weeks there are lots of empty files/dirs on
- your drives.
- Of course this can be done be programs like DiskSalv etc., too.
- But I wanted a small program that can do this in a easy way
- from Shell or from a directory utility and so I wrote Cleanup.

-
- 4. Usage
-
- Cleanup is a Shell-only proggie:
-
- Cleanup DIR/A, NODIR/S, REPORT/S, IGNORE/S
-
- DIR - This is the directory or drive that shall be
- cleaned up. This argument must be given
-
- The following arguments are optionally. If given the
- do the following:
-
- NODIR - Only empty files, no directories won't be
- deleted.
-
- REPORT - The program shows what it actually does. That
- means it prints a list of the files and dirs
- that it examines and tells you which of them
- are protected or removed etc.
-
- IGNORE - The delete-protection flag of the files and dirs
- will be ignored. That means they will be deleted
- even if the flag is set.
-
- Of course you can (or even should ;) use Cleanup from your
- favorite directory utility, e.g. from DOpus:
-
- Start the config module and create a new button "Cleanup"
- Now configure it e.g. as:
-
- AmigaDos Cleanup {s}
-
- The actual source directory of DOpus will be cleaned up.
- Or do something like this:
-
- AmigaDos Cleanup (RdSelect a directory to clean} REPORT
-
- DOpus will ask you for a directory to clean up before and
- a report is shown.
