- XMASH GUI Interface for Hydra's XMASH V1.0.1
-
-
- XMash GUI is (c) Thrasher of Nowhere in particular
-
- XMash GUI is a interface for Xmash making it easy to use from the workbench
- At the moment it basically allows you to Mash a disk, UnMash it, add the file
- descriptions, banners, to test an archive and to change the track increase.
-
-
- Requirments
- -----------
-
- Just Workbench 2.0 or higher. XMash V1.0 by Hydra. Reqtools library.
-
-
- How to install XMash GUI
- ------------------------
-
- To install first make sure you have XMash from Hydra installed, with the
- XMash executable in your C directory and just put XMash GUI where you
- usually keep you utils that you use from the Workbench and thats it.
-
-
- How to use XMASH GUI
- --------------------
-
- I haven't put all of XMash's option in XMash GUI at the moment only the
- ones that are most useful but if anyone wants them all in drop me a line
- and I'll see what I can do.
-
- So on with how to use it. To make an XMS arc just put the arc name in the
- 'Select File' gadget, any banners, description files in the 'Banner',
- 'File Description' gadgets and select which Cruncher you want and click
- on 'Read'. It's as simple as that.
-
- To Unarc just select the file you want with either the file requester
- gadget or type it in, select which drive you want and click on 'Write'
-
- To add a description to an existing arc just select an XMS file, the
- description file and click on 'Desc'. To add a banner same as, but click
- on 'AddText'
-
- 'TrackInc' allows you to specify the number of tracks to be read before
- they are crunched, the more selected the better the crunching.
-
- 'Low' and 'High' are the tracks From and To, to archive.
-
-
- New functions (as of version 1.0.1)
- -------------
-
- 'Append' allows you to add a range of tracks eg. 7 to 17 will add them
- to an already crunched file (see Hydra's docs for more info)
-
- 'XMStrip' calls hydra's program of the same name to strip all banners
- and file ids.
-
- 'XMS2File' calls another of Hydra's progs to split the archive into
- its individual tracks.
- -The above two commands require the said progs in your c: directory
-
- 'SavePrefs' saves all current setting to a prefs file in s:
- -There you go Bill - just for you ;-)
-
- 'Tracks' this will allow you to add any track or tracks you want to
- an archive, just keep typing in the track numbers, then just press
- return and it will either add then to an existing file or create a
- new arc with just these tracks, great for trainers etc.
-

-
- Note to Hydra
- -------------
-
- Great Util m8, but I've noticed a bug, it won't recognise an XMS archive
- if the extension is in lower case, I've got around that in the XMash GUI
- by just putting the filename to upper case. And if you abort a Read it
- leaves the destination file with a few bytes.
-
- Also if you want you can bung XMashGUI in the XMash archive as a util for
- XMash it's fine by me.
-
- Thrasher...
