- your own little favorite is back with a REALLY useful tool!
- ¯¯¯¯¯¯
-
- this is acctually what I recently found in a ugly little doc-free .lha-pack
- at a local bbs when i was just hanging around.. it's based on a program
- called 'FIGLET' and it's a program that does something that i always
- liked to see; it draws aSC1+¹ from your keyboard!
-
- how is this then possible? I asked the same thing myself, and I was ready
- to go to the bottom with this problem, because sadly enough was the printed
- font really ugly too, looked like this:
- _____ _____ ____
- | _ || _ || __|
- | (_) || (_)/ | | and so on..
- | _ || (_)\ | |__
- |_| |_||_____||____|
-
- so why not make an own version with some REALLY goodlooking amiga-characters?
-
- so said and so I did, and here is the result:
- ._______..______ _____
- ¦ _ ¬¦¦¯ __ ) /¯ /
- | T || `¬ \ / ___/_
- | _ || `¬ )\ ¬\
- | l___|| ____/ \______\
- `---' `---'
-
- now, I dont know which one YOU prefer, but I personally thinks that my font
- could be much more useful.
-
-
-
-
- how do you then use this one?
-
- it's REALLY simple;
-
- 1. Enter your CLI/SHELL
- 2. Enter the directory where your 'xCz-tOOL!' is un-lha'ed, probably
- RAM:xCz-tOOL!, with the commando "Cd Ram:xCz-tOOL!"
- 3. Type the following: "xCz-tOOL!"
- 4. Now it seemes that nothing at all has happend, but look twice! try to
- write anything (do not forget that there is difference with small and
- big characters) ended with an [Return]/[Enter].
- 5. Just look at that! Your Sentence:
-
- -> "I'm Amazed!"
-
- Became:
- ___ _ _ ._______. _ ._____.________ .______ .___ ._
- (___)(¬)¡¬\ ¦ _ ¬¦¡¬\ ¦ _ ¬¦\___ ¬/ ¦ ___/ ¦¯ _\ ¦¬|
- / ¬\l/ | _\ /\ | T || _\ /\ | T | / / | __)_ | T \ | |
- / \ ¦ \\// \ | _ |¦ \\// \ | _ | / /¯¯T| ¬\ | ` \l_|
- \_ _/ `---\/ \ | l___|`---\/ \l__l__|/_______¦l______\l_____/(_)xCz
- `---' l____\ `---' l____\
-
- 6. And there you are! ready to write your own asc2-texts in full effect!
-
-
- who made it and when?
-
- this one is really mysterious, because what I got when I first checked it
- out was a couple of fonts and the tiny program only. this is the only ©
- stuff that i got:
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Standard by Glenn Chappell & Ian Chai 3/93 -- based on .sig of Frank Sheeran
- Figlet release 2.0 -- August 5, 1993
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- so mr.Glenn Chappell and mr.Ian Chai made it originally in August 1993.
-
- a big thanx to them for developing this (according to me) wonderful tool.
-
-
-
- now, what are you doing out here? get to CLI and start writing!
-
-
-
-
- final notes: i would really appriciate if you didn't change my font at all.
- i might understand that you might find some parts of the font
- irretating, but you must take that. i'm sure of that it soon
- will arrive some new version of the program 'Figlet' where a
- full package of font-editing tips are included and where you
- could learn more about the program.
-
- so, DO NOT change my font and leave the program as it was.
- ¯¯ ¯¯¯
- thanks for showing respect to my work, that's how we should
- make the amiga-scene survive. ¯¯¯¯¯¯
