  1.                         A Personal Computer

  3.         The personal computer industry was shocked recently when
  4. Penthouse merged with Commodore and entered the PC market.  The
  5. venture will be introducing the Penthouse Pet, a very personal
  6. computer designed to satisfy a variety of users' needs.
  7.  
  8.         Planning a new line of velvet and satin soft-waer, the
  9. company's Times Square R&D fsacility is working on applications
  10. packages for the home entertainment market.  One of the niftier
  11. applications is a word processing package called "Sleazy Writer,"
  12. which can generate an almost infinite number of Penthouse Forum
  13. letters using a vocabulary of only fifty words.  Other packages
  14. include Accounts Painable, Visi-Crotch, a Eunichs Operating System,
  15. Electronic Male, and a graphics package featuring 200 shades of
  16. pink.  A user-friendly language called VIRGIN will guide first-timers
  17. every step of the way.

  19.         One of the main research thrusts is to develop a warm 
  20. man-machine interface.  According to Penthouse sources, "erotica is
  21. simply and extension of ergonomics."  The PET terminal has been
  22. designed with a ribbed exterior and comes in a variety of 
  23. tropical colors.  California publisher Blue Boy is offering an
  24. AC/DC power supply.  A company spokesperson also lauded the PET's 
  25. portability.  "With moisture-resistant packaging, you can take
  26. your PET anywhere  --  you can go swimming with it, take it into
  27. a jacuzzi, or even go to bed with it!"

  29.         In addition, the Penthouse PET will be able to interface
  30. with the next generation of interactive video-discs.  Users will be
  31. able to pick from a wide variety of fantasies with the aid of a 
  32. groan-activated selector.  Of course, the system does come with a
  33. joy-stick.

  35.         For the party market, Penthouse has developed a Local Area
  36. Network called ORGYNET, which the company claims is a breakthrough
  37. in compatibility.  With the ORGYNET input-output port, "you can just 
  38. stick your plug right in."  A cluster controller has also been 
  39. designed to satisfy the interactive needs of up to four uses at the 
  40. same time.  Unlike other LANs that use a single coaxial cable, ORGYNET
  41. features a tangle of coax (OEMed from COX) and uses TSMA (tactile
  42. sense multiple access) to allow up to 69 users to interact with the
  43. system and each other simultaneously.  Although Penthouse reports that
  44. ORGYNET can sustain prolonged interactive sessions, insiders report
  45. that the throughput peaks after 30 seconds.

  47.         The PET will be distributed by Fredick's of Hollywood, local
  48. newsstands, and Sears.  Penthouse is also strong in Service & 
  49. Maintenance;  S&M will be handled by a nationwide fleet of vans
  50. equipped with a variety of whips, chains, and other tools.

  52.         The new generation of personal computers was totally
  53. anticipated by the Yankee Group.  From a limp beginning, the erotic
  54. information processing market has been rising in recent years and is 
  55. now quite firm, although the recession has created some soft spots.
  56. Penthouse's strategy is to use its solid orders to enter the soft
  57. markets, jack up production when things get going, and pull out just
  58. before competitors come rushing into the market.
