  56.       The walls were paneled in dark pine and she noted that the drinks
  57.       were served in crystal. There were, perhaps thirty people in the
  58.       room when they entered and Dan escorted her to a table near the
  59.       back. An attractive couple was seated there and they greeted Dan as
  60.       he approached. Jan was introduced to Robert and Denise and Dan held
  61.       a chair for her to sit next to Robert. As she seated herself, she
