- HLM FOR THE LOSS OF HIS

- Yesterday (30.10.95) Hoodlum released Virtual Karting on the Amiga.
- Also present was a hd installer for the game, which many people
- seem to think was done by HLM themselves, including one (or more)
- irate scener who blames them for the loss of his STARTUP-SEQUENCE.
-
- Having seen the original of this game (in all its lameness) I feel
- i should put the record straight (something that is lame that isnt
- hoodlums fault for once haha).
-
- Hoodlum didnt write the installer it was present on the original
- disks, but after including there intro there was not enough space
- to include it on disk one. The installer present on the original
- game did exactly the same to a friend of mine. Its certainly not
- the first game to do such things and probably wont be the last.
-
- This is a common problem where games copy the whole of the disk
- contents to the drive you specify and then delete unwanted files.
- The simple answer is always make a drawer for anything you install,
- afterall it is much simpler to move a drawer from within a drawer
- than to place all the files scattered in your root into a drawer.
-
- End of lecture from a well known uk scener.... but nobody cares who ;)

-
- (BTW My comments on HLM's lameness are purely an attempt to make
- a boring text file less dreary, and should not be taken too seriously.
- I am also in no way connected to HLM, so they can congratulate
- themselves that they have at least one person on the scene who doesnt
- think they are completely lame ;-] )
