 Hawk of Giants^Strange writes back at you from the
 SCC ( Summer Computer Conference ). I'm acctually not there
 yet but I thought I should be prepared. I wont send anything
 to any of you except thoose who are going there this week but
 I'll send you all letters with stuff from the SCC instead
 right after I've got it. So you will all be receiving the latest
 stuff from the SCC from friendly little me. I might also use
 this letter to some of the dewds that will ( I hope ) write to me
 on Monday and Tuesday after the SCC 'coz I will prob be to tired
 to write anything coherent then.


 By the way, dont return my stamps this time 'coz I 'aint got the time
 to fake them here at the party. Everything will get back to normal
 after the SCC though.

Friday 12th.

11.11

Up and fully operational, left home at 09.00 and arrived at the SCC hall
at 10.40. Wizard was first to have a fully operational computer and he is
at the moment screwing around with his module for the compo. Orbit is also
operational I see now.

Been trying to make Orbits darn Squirrel and 1x Cd work for a while now but
I got tired and started writing some more on this report. Wizard and Orbit is
putting up posters all over the place. Only about 20 people maximum at
the moment. I certainly hope that there will be more later on, otherwise
I'll crack some heads.

Still slow going here, still only about 20 people here, a little more info
would prob have been a good idea. Like when the doors would be opened and
so on. Managed to get the cd up and running and I copied some Mb from
various cd's. About 130 Mb so far.

Finally remembered that I was supposed to call home as soon as we got
here, well better late then never I suppose. Still rather slow going 'coz
there still 'aint more then 20 people here at the moment. Well, not much
to write really 'coz there 'aint much going on at the moment.

There are a few more people here now but still not more then 30. t'would
be a darn shame if there 'aint gonna be more. Apparently there's some group
here that goes by the name of " The white lotus " and they are going to
release a DEMOMANIACDEMO! ! ! ! Cheaters.


Saturday 13th.

Managed to lock myself out of the fucking car I was sleeping in. :((((((((((
My keys had fallen out of da pocket while I was sleeping and I was stupid
( :(((((((((((((( ) 'nuff to walk out and lock the door after me b4 I
noticed that da key's were missing. Hey, no great prob I thought, I'll
take a screwdriver and take the spare ones. Walked back in and tried
to locate a screwdriver........ Failed! I brought my handy Swissknife,
a scissor, my belt and all sorts of strange objects and tried one after
one. Finally I managed to open the fucking compartment with my fucking
belt! Then I saw that the key was all rusty and filthylooking. Hey, It
prob works anyway I thought and tried it............Failed! I tried it
on the other side and on the loadingdoor in the back and failed! I stood
there a few minutes and used my knife to clean it up a bit and finally
I managed to open the fucking door. I searched in my sleepingbag and
there was the fucking keys. Now they are safe on my keychain and the
spare ones are in my wallet. Not likely that I forgot either of thoose.
Still slow going here, I suppose most people are saving themsleves for
the Assembly. On the other hand it's weekend now and I know that some
of my friends who are working will most probably go today. I don't feel
very productive now, sat up a few hours around 00.00 and wrote down
adverts in the Blackbook. It now has 181 different adverts in it from
all over the world, not even 1%! Giants 50k intro Dreamworld is slowly
starting to get finished. Strange's Wierd even more slowly, if Wizard
don't finish it b4 the deadline I don't know what I will do.

ways of spending their saturdays on. I might agree with them but
stayed anyway.

Wierd finished and delivered. Just came from the 4clmusiccompo.
Dasse / Dead Hackers Society is a SURE winner with a brilliant
mix of "We will rock you". Simply GREAT! Wizard will prob end
up among the four best with his Peace of the 60s.


Sunday 14th..

05.21

Well the party is almost over now and it went quite well for Strange
and Giants. Strange won the Democompetition with our first demo "Wierd",
Giants won the Introcompetition with the intro "Dreamworld", Wizard
came second in the musiccompetition and Millenium came in on fourth place.
When I summon up the results it's clear that it's Elefantklubben that
has dominated this party with loads of crappy releases. The only quality
from them tonight was Mama in the democompo, a demo made with Demomaniac.
Orbit just woke up and I'm going to take advantage of that to catch up
on my sleep. I seem to get more tired for every party I go to, old age
I suppose.

Just woke up again and am even more tired now then b4 when I left to
get some sleep. 'tis prob time to start packing soon soo one can sleep
in a real bed and get a well needed shower. The hygenic arrangements on
this party is below zero. The wc:s are in a state of total mezz and the
bathhouse is closed over the weekend so there 'aint no place to clean
up unless you're prepared to walk to someones house here in Koping and
steal a shower from them.

Yeah you'll get some fresh stuff from the SummerComputerConference from
me this time. No letter? Hmmm, I prob forgot to copy it then coz the
first thing I do is to write all the letter and then copy the stuff to
the disks. u Sure there was no letter? Saw later on the u only used lha
and dms, what's wrong with lzx and xpk? I prefer thoose. Oh well, I'll try
to remember to not send u stuff packed with other archivers.
Join WHY? Hehe, I left but if I get a letter from Enhanced sometime I'll
send your add to him. I joined Giants and so did Keldon. I don't think
Why that renamed to Define or something like that will stay alive much
longer. Iconstart animations? It's no prob, just make an icon to them and
specify a viewer in the icon. That way all your animations will be started
by clicking on the icon. Lot's o trouble though, I prefer using Mpeginituition
or PPShow. VT is also good, icons make such a mess when u have many of them.

060 Breathless, yeah that would be nice. PPC Breathless would be even nicer.
Imagine a P604 150MHz instead of a 060 50MHz. :P
A PPC would be G.R.E.A.T, Lightwave or Cinema4d with one of thoose...... :P

Orbit / Giants downloaded a English version of Cinema4d but that was FPU only.
:(  I might buy a FPU if I dont manage to sell my axx real soon.

My mother also makes real good pizza, I have even made a few myself. Not all
commercial pizzas suck but most of them does. I'll bring my toaster to
the SCC, it was great having it at the Icing. It saves a lot of money,
all you need to buy is some butter and stuff to put it on after a few days
'coz the freezebag don't manage to hold out more then a day so it starts
to get bad after two days.

Need sleep? ;) Not if u can earn a few credz on the BBS's. After the Icing
or perhaps the remedy last year I spent a few hours uploading every
pice of shit I'd managed to get my hands on at the party. I almost
fell asleep over my computer when I did it.

Freezers would not release Insanity? :((((((
Will you continue to release them if you find another coder or will there
be no more issues of Insanity?

Well I to spend most of my time on the IRC at night so that won't be a prob.
This weekend however I'm spending at the SCC so I'll not be alble to chat
with you this weekend, perhaps the next one when I have recovered from
the SCC. Nice to hear that the musicdisk is on it's way. I've never heard
of Amos Craft though. Try to seek after Amos or Craft with Ftpsearch.
I use it to find amigawarez sites. It's just to search for the prog
you are looking for or amiwrz, Gamez-aga/ecs, Appz, Reqz or all of them.
You will find a huge amount of sites real fast.

I'll send demos, intros or something like that from the SCC this time but
remind me to send you modules from Coma in the next letter and you'll get them.

How's the Zip working by the way? I don't have the money yet but I'll
certainly get myself one when I do. Squirrel Surf first and then a Zip.
Although I might buy a Hd-Cd-cable and a ATAPI Cd-Rom first so I can
borrow all sorts of nice Cd's from a few friends.

Well, I have to leave you now 'coz I'm going to get myself something

Hello my friend.

Fucking rain, this is supposed to be summer but I can't find any
trace of it. :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

The cat pucked in your bed? I thought one of mine or perhaps my little
brother had pissed somewhere in my room 'coz it smelled so bad. I looked
around, smelled but could not find anything wrong. ( No it was not me ;) )
I changed my bedsheets, vacumed and even cleaned up a bit but I could
still not find what was smelling so bad. Then after a few hours I noticed
that there were some strange objects in my wastebasket. My sister and
a few of her friends had used the tv and the vcr that was standing in my
room at the moment. They had eaten bananas and watermelon and dumped the
leftovers in my wastebasket. It had started to rot and that was where
the smell came from.

Hmmm, well I already had Showtime magpart but you were the first to send
me the gallerypart. Every time Showtime get's out I get at least
twenty copies of it. This time however I've included a DONT SEND
in my letters so perhaps I'll only get five or six this time. ( I HOPE! )

Well the WB was quite kewl indeed. I'm running a screen the size of 1448x400,
just 8 colors though and no pictures in the background. The extra size come
in quite handy when I'm on the irc, I can have perhaps eight channels open
at the same time without having to moving windows around all the time.
I'd like a better monitor though but you can't have it all I suppose.

Shapeshifter the game? Never heard of it before. MegaTraveler is supposed
to be pure shit, one of my friends said he played it once a few years
ago. Merchant Colony sounds familiar, I'll look through my disks
later on when I have some time to spare.

Waterworld was. . . . acceptable, no more, no less. They have been quite
free with the cutting of it. One of my contacts listed up the things that
have been discarded in the videoversion and it was quite a list indeed.
My sister borrowed Braveheart and that was much better. A real nice
movie indeed. I have been looking for the darn cable a few days now
but I can't find it. I have maybe six or seven movies to copy for myself
and I'm going to send a tape to Celtic / Axis and Chriz / Element but I
cant find the darn cable anymore. :(

Send me the stuff from the Robyncompo at the icing'96. I cant seem to
find thoose on my harddrive. I may have deleted them. :(

Yeah I'm a member of Giants now, I joined them and dropped out of Why ( Define)
Strange released Wierd at last here at SCC, it was a certain amount of stress
involved so it's not timed with the music and in one place it simply breaks
off in the middle of the tune and replaces it with the endpart. We might
release a fix later on but that lies in the future when we have gotten a
few hours ( DAYS! ) of sleep.

I 'aint got no probs with Darkside by Tbl, I'm going to ask Wizard what
happends on his machine (B1220 28Mhz 4 meg fast) when he get's back.

Yeah it will take some doing b4 I buy myself a phokin' PeZe, the amiga can
deal with all my needs except perhaps raytrace. a 060 or PPC would cure that
but I must get rid of my 030 first 'coz I don't want that collecting dust
in a corner of my closet. The new amigas also seem like a nice thing,
I could imagine myself bying a Pios or a Phase5 Amigaclone and keeping
my a1200 and use it as a BBS or something like that. It will be interesting to
see what will happend when the set-top-box get's out on the market. Since it's
a amiga in disguise with some extra hardware it does give a lot of nice
oppurtunities. Just think, several hundreds of thousands of amigas connected
to the Internet or something just like it. Games like Civilization, Elite,
Lords of the realm and so on thoose machines..... You would not need cpu-
opponents, you would have hundreds of real humans instead. And of 'coz
a great many people are going to see what an amiga can do, some of them
are bound to buy a real one after seeing it. :)))))))))))))))))))))))))
