- BUSH Party II Report
-
- Written by Anders Kjeldsen(SPEED/IRIS)
-
- *The start*
- You could just walk into the hall and
- put all the equipment on a table. When
- you had become finished you should go
- outside the hall to another hall and
- pay your entrance-fee which was 170
- NOK.You also got a votedisk when you
- payed,which was a PC formatted High
- Density disk! So,Amiga owners had to
- vote on somebody's PC.
-
- * I need something to drink!! *
- The organizer-team were placed on the
- scene. From them you could buy a coke
- for 10 NOK,but when they noticed that
- the sale went bad they offered people
- 2 cokes for 15 NOK.From them you could
- ONLY buy coke.I bet they had stored
- about 1000 cokes up there. If you want-
- ed something to eat,you could walk 200
- metres and get to a store. Now,here you
- were able to get things cheap! It was
- also a fast food and video store at
- the same place.
-
- * I love watching movies! *
- In the cellar you were able to watch
- films on laserdisc.I'm sure that the
- screen had to about 40-50" or some-
- thing! There was also connected two
- loudspeakers which was big. There was
- also a kitchen down there,which every-
- body could make their own pizzas. The
- films were good, and many of them were
- very new too! I,for example,watched
- "Last(Lost?) Boy Scout" and "Forest
- Gump".
-
- * I want that screen in my room! *
- Yes,as always,there was a big screen
- in the main hall which was supposed
- to be used for the competitions. There
- were also a loudspeaker on both sides
- of the screen.The bad thing was,they
- sometimes played modules on those
- speakers..LOUD! Later on,they showed
- some PC-demos on the screen.As some
- of the organizers are very funny them-
- selves,it became very funny when they
- made a story for the mpg's that they
- showed sometimes.
-
- * POWER - Guess what! *
- No party without power-problems,right?
- In the beginning the power "went"
- severall times,you could even watch a
- demo through before the screen faded.
- So,when we,after a couple of hours,
- figured out that it could take some
- time before the power would return for
- good,we,who's me and a couple of
- friends, went down to the laserdisc-
- room. The next day all problems were
- solved, and so for the rest of the
- party too!
-
- * Too many PC lamers,too few Men *
- I doubt that it was more than 20 Amiga
- owners at the party,totally! It wasn't
- many LAMERS amongst us.But about the
- PC guys..There were a couple of "zone-
- s" where there weren't any PC-lamers,
- but on other's screens you could sit
- down and watch DOOM all day long!!
-
- * Competitions *
- Here's a list of all the compos':
- PC 65kb intro.
- PC 4kb intro
- Amiga 4kb intro (NO competers!)
- 4ch Module
- Multi Channel Module.
- Graphics
-
- They started with the 4-channel module
- competition.It entered 8 or 9 modules
- or something. Most modules were based
- on rave and techno,which I didn't find
- very nice after a couple of days with
- headache! I cannot remember ANY res-
- ults because I did never get a chance
- to see them(I was sleeping).In the
- Multi Channel competition 16 modules
- competed.I liked 4 of them especially.
- These modules were also based a lot on
- rave etc.I think it entered about 9
- pictures in the gfx competition. One
- thing I hated with the results of
- this compo was that a MANGA picture
- won! I hate manga! I won't say much
- (nothing!) about the PC intro compo'
- and the PC 4kb intro compo. It entered
- 5 4kb intros and 9 65kb intros.
- Instead of getting money-prices,you
- get something else.Last year,the
- first price for winning the music-
- competition was a 16bit sound-card(?).
-
- * Party Network (So what!?) *
- It was a network for PC owners at BUSH
- Party II. (.....)
-
- * Porsgrunn..City of RAVE (NOT) *
- The party place is very close to Pors-
- grunn(which is my neighbour-city).And
- at nights it's a very good idea to go
- out.I talked with another guy from
- Horten(Norway!) who'd been in town at
- Friday night.I think he'd liked it..
- I also advise you to be above 21 yrs.
-
- So,you haven't been to BUSH Party
- before,eh? And you haven't heard about
- it either? And you feel like being on
- the next one? Why don't you drop a
- call next year(May/June) and I can
- tell you what I know about it!
