  19.       A UK guy gets pissed off with the sysop of his local board......

  27.         When I have plenty of At&t's I call the best boards in the US and
  28. Canada, trade loads of stuff and then log-on to my favourite local boards
  29. where I will upload it all.

  31.         I upload it to the local boards which offer the best ratios, (at
  32. least 3:1).  I don't download anything from these local boards as they will
  33. rarely have anything that I can't get from the states.

  35.         Every so often all of my cards will die, so I pay to call the local
  36. boards where I will download the stuff that I want for myself.  This method
  37. seemed to work fine until recently.  The local board that I called had altered
  38. my ratio from 4:1 down to 2:1, as well as cutting my on-line time by half!

  40.         When I asked the sysop why my ratio had suddenly been cut he said it
  41. was because I hadn't uploaded much recently and was only coming on the board
  42. to download.

  44.         Isn't it a bit like choosing the bank that offers a better interest
  45. rate than the one next door, promising a much better return when you come
  46. to withdraw your money and then suddenly changing its mind!

  48.         There are certain sysops on the scene who would be happy if no-one
  49. EVER downloaded anything and instead had 5 or 6 guys permanently uploading
  50. stuff.  The kind of sysops who have "upload-only nodes".
  51.  
  52.         What the fuck is the point of uploading stuff if no-one gets the
  53. chance to download and use the bastard.  There are too many people on the
  54. scene who are only interested in Megs and not programs.
  55.  
  56.         So if you are a sysop, who promises people a certain return on what
  57. they upload, please remember your promise when these people come to download.
