  13. Finally I had to make the next decision:

  15. After a period full of ups and downs:

  17. THE LAB BBS is dead!! Only I had to admit it (and that was hard for me)!
  18. After being more than 2 years online I have to face the facts!!

  20. There were 3 options to go:
  21.  
  22. 1. Trading like crazy!! (leeching & uppin') but that means I got a phonebill
  23.    of f. 1000,-- or higher. I cann't really afford so much. And If I do this,
  24.    I will sure be offline TOO next termine, because I have to sell my
  25.    hardware!!!!

  27. 2. Going on like now, and see that more and more people didn't call my board
  28.    anymore. (and still I had to pay phonebills more than 600 guilders!!)
  29.    I don't mind that, but that's why I never could buy stuff for da computer
  30.    and/or the bbs). Maybe for some persons isn't that much but unfortunately
  31.    for me it is!

  33. 3. Going offline (probably forever). An advantage of this is that I finally
  34.    can buy some things for myself. Maybe I stay in touch with a few sysops,
  35.    but that's that!

  37. I have chosen for the last option, because I wouldn't like to miss my 1200!!
  38. I don't know for sure what really happened, but it is a fact that there
  39. are much too much boards in Holland, so there is too much concurrence.
  40. Traders are extinct and the only people who kept the scene alive were the
  41. sysoptraders. So I help you all by going offline.

  43. Oh sure, I have had more bad times in the past two years, but every time
  44. I could survive till now.

  46. I wanna thank the persons who kept The LAB BBS alive (specially in the
  47. bad days): These are no usually thanx, but SPECIAL thanx!!):

  49. Crazy White          (ff in het Nederlands, want Engels lezen is voor jou
  50.                      moeilijk. Misschien krijg je deze tekst wel nooit te
  51.                      zien, maar ik wil je toch even bedanken voor de chats
  52.                      die we gehad hebben)
  53. Minor Threat         (for his support in AUGUST'95)
  54. Maed                 (he tried)
  55. Midnight Caller      (one of the few people who DIDN'T forget me!! and was
  56.                      always loyal!!)
  57. Pinokio              (you was always a kewl dude, too bad you've left the
  58.                      scene)
  59. Pyxis                (I think he was the only one who really liked my board)
  60. Sadus                (maybe you never read this, but thanx for all you did.

  63. Probably I forgot some people to mention, but for most of them I don't have
  64. special greetingz just the usual greetingz for them.

  66. But hey!! What about the Dutch Traders Charts and the Dutch Boards Charts???

  72. If somebody wants to take it over just let me know. But I have to warn you:
  73. You must have time enough at the beginning of the month to be able to handle
  74. with that!! And you have to be a person with much integrity and be thrustfull
  75. and maybe a fool too?? But most important is you to have a heart for such
  76. kind of thing to do!!
