Today, 16th (Monday) December 1996 The Welder was visited by his local police and sub-poenad for his fone records. They have also threatened to confiscate his equipment. He was given a choice of either giving them the fone logs or being busted outright. As he has a lot of warez on disk, he had no choice but to agree to show them the fone logs. He is only giving them the logs for his DATA lines, and is also cutting out PHYSICALLY the non-bbs numbers. I spoke with him an hour after he was visited and he asked me to release this txt file. He has been threatened with FAST involvement, and they have also asked to see his contract with EA. Without a doubt this is something to do with Trading standards shite, we still don't know how they targetted him. He has refused to give them his fonebook, and his harddrive is encrypted so there is no problem with security, but > EVERY < BBS should make The Welder's account inactive and change his password so that his account cannot be used. Only re-enable his account once I call you and speak to you in person to tell you it is safe to do so.
