- HISTORY
- -------
-
- I wanted to build me a cheap sampler for the Amiga and tried
- serveral samplers. In these experimental days I received a small
- circuit design for a stereo-sampler. After building this sampler,
- I was stunned, what a great quality for only $18 !!
- It can sample at all rates possible using Audiomaster IV.
- Since the other samplers didn't match my wishes, I decided
- to draw the circuit and give it to you, the other Amiga Freaks
- in the world,...
- This Sampler is an update to my previous sampler, I added
- 2 amps for volume control on the input (Thanks to: Mike Kopack,
- he used this amp in his sampler aswell).
-
-
- FILES INCLUDED
- --------------
-
- You'll find the following files:
-
- * Sampler_COMPONENTSIDE.IFF ; a black&white IFF of the component-
- side of the device pcb
- * Sampler_SOLDERSIDE.IFF ; a black&white IFF of the solderside
- * Sampler.DOC ; you're reading it
- * SamplerDemo.IFF ; a sample sampled with this sampler
- (+- 20Khz,... Audiomaster IV)
- * NEWIO-Files: - Bibliothek-dir
- - Platine-dir
- - patched 'newio.vorein' for Harddisk usage
- (read the note !)
-
- PARTS
- -----
-
- You'll need the following parts:
-
- 1x ZN449E (cheap AD-Converter)
- 1x HCF4066BE (makes the stereo possible)
- 2x LM386N (amps)
- 6x 10uF El. Capacitor
- 1x 33pF Capacitor
- 2x 0.1uF El. Capacitor
- 1x 1n4148 Diode
- 2x (red-red-red) 2K2 Resistor
- 1x (brown-black-red) 1K Resistor
- 1x (brown-green-orange) 15K Resistor
- 2x Var.resistor (Pot.meter) 100K
- 1x DB-25 Male (for your printer port, so watch it A1000 users!!)
- 2x RCA-in (Audio in)
-
-
- HOW IT WORKS
- ------------
-
- First of all,... I made a PCB for my sampler, but it will work just as
- fine if you do it with wiring. The layout of my PCB matches the
- IFF-pictures (note the difference between componentside en solderside!).
- I added Mike Kopachs little amplifier to make incoming sound adjustable.
-
- For best results: - use a METALcase grounded to audio GND
- - use 2 seperate variable resistors
- - keep all audio cables as short as possible
-
- I also included the data-files for NEWIO 3.0 which I used to draw the
- PCB,.. (don't forget the libraries)
- A1200 users; Newio 3.0 can be started on your Amiga using the original
- chipset (select at boot).
- For harddisk useage patch the 'Newio.Vorein'.
- You'll have to change every appearance of 'DF0:' in 'Newio.Vorein'
- to 'PCB:'.
- After that you assign PCB: to you work directory,
-
- example:
-
- assign PCB: DH1:CAD/Newio
-
- Newio now works just fine on your harddisk.
-
- Plans: a little LED-display (VU) would be nice,... (Suggestions ??)
-
- Well that's all,.. eh... I think this is easy to build,.. please
- report suggestions and bugs to:
-
- Hans Luyten
- 't Hofflandt 36
- 4851TC Ulvenhout
- The Netherlands
-
- or to: LUYTEN@KUB.NL
-
-
- Have fun,...
