- Hi all,
-
- Here's some info which A1200 owners considering buying some extra memory (like
- myself) will find useful...

-
- Here are the results of AIBB 5.0 on an A1200 with a PCMCIA 16 bit ram
- card, and with a Microbotics MBX1200Z. Reference is a A1200 with only
- chip ram.
-
- AIBB V.5.0 Benchmark comparison of the Amiga 1200 in three configurations:

- Matrix 1.00 0.80 1.60
- TMath 1.00 0.79 1.24
- Memtest 1.00 1.00 1.31
- TGTest 1.00 0.79 1.71
- AVERAGE 1.00 0.85 1.50

- Savage 1.00 0.62 55.24
- FMath 1.00 0.58 6.02

- DWhetstone 1.00 0.61 17.49
- FTrace 1.00 0.62 28.37
- CPLXtest 1.00 0.63 2.15
- AVERAGE FP 1.00 0.62 17.22
-
- OVERALL AVERAGE 1.00 0.73 9.36
- Bottom half of table shows floating-point-intensive benchmarks.
-
- As you can see, PCMCIA ram most often slows down the machine!! Of course,
- floating point results must take care that the test was done with a 68881
- FPU on the 1200!!
