- How 2 fix that black and white problem on a 1O84(S)
-
- This text is only important 4 those who qualify on the following points:
-
- -1: U must be a EURO PSX freak
- -2: u must have a 1O84 with a 9 pin d port
- -3: U must have a us or jap game
- -4: u must have some cash over after buying the p(l)ay station aka psx.
- -5: And last i'm not in anyway responsible 4 damages 2 anything!
-
- Extra info:
- These us/jap games need a euro AV cable 2 give colour on your t.V.
- system. B-coz composite video doesn't give the proper info for your
- tv/monitor 2 change the needed ntsc 2 pal! The original sony cable
- cost around 50% more than some other brands cables and trust me
- guyz there no difference!
- But here comes the tricky part: some tv's and most monitors doesn't
- hace a scart connector. if you have only a.v. (8 pins) or c.v.b.s.
- (2 poles) forget that t.v. or monitor and buy a new one with scart!
- (and stereo also.)
- Unfortunaly we haven't found any hardware switching methode!
-
-
- The story sofar:
- Most of us amiga users bought a psx for the best console fun on
- earth (waiting 2 get your hands on a U64) and still have that good
- old 1O84(S) monitor somewhere in (y)our house(s).
-
-
- Well now 4 those lucky ones we have a solution:
- 1- buy that needed euro av cable
- 2- make the conversion cable
-
-
- The first point can't be a problem, unless u are out of cash.
- The second point is a but different, u will need the following hardware:
- 1- a female 21 pin scart connector
- 2- a male 9 pin d connector
- 3- a few centimeters of 6 wires cord
-
-
- The next scart pins are by a euro psx cable:
- 2,4,6,7,11,15,16,18 and 2O
-
-
- Meaning the following jobs: (4 those want 2 know everything dudes)
- 2 = Right audio out
- 4 = Ground (audio)
- 6 = Left audio out
- 7 = blue video out
- 11 = green video out
- 15 = red video out
- 16 = fast video blanking
- 18 = ground (fast video blanking)
- 2O = Composite video out
-
-
- In this little project we can forget pin 2,4 and 6
-
- The following 9 pins of the commodore 1O84(S) d connector are:
- 1 = ground red
- 2 = ground green
- 3 = red video in
- 4 = green video in
- 5 = blue video in
- 6 = Ground blue
- 7 = Composite sync in
- 8 = H sync
- 9 = V sync
-
- Well now we start with the connection of the following pins:
- .--------------------------------------------.
- female scart | 7 | 11 | 15 | 16 | 18 | 2O |
- wire colour | blue | green | red | white | black |yellow|
- mail rgb | 5 | 2 | 3 | 9 | 8 | 7 |
- `--------------------------------------------'
-
- If everyting whent oke' it must look something like this:
-
- _______ ______________
- ( 9 pin )-----------| 21 pin scart |
- \_____/------------|_______________\
-
