  5. There  can't  be  many  PD  collectors  who  don't  own  any  of  the
  6. incredible slideshow/animation disks produced by Tobias Richter under
  7. the Agatron label. Well, here at  Infinite Frontiers, we have managed
  8. to arrange rights to distribute  these  disks with Tobias (and unlike
  9. other PD libraries, we  have  the  FULL  range  of  87   disks) and a
  10. MINIMUM royalty payment of 10% from  the  sale  of EVERY disk will be
  11. paid to Tobias.

  13. The prices for these are:

  15.                       1 - 5 disks  - £1.50 each
  16.                       6 or more    - £1.25 each
  17.  
  18. And those prices INCLUDE postage  and  packing anywhere in the world!
  19. We know that you can get  these  cheaper  from many PD libraries, but
  20. how many libraries can claim to  pay  royalties to Tobias on the sale
  21. of every disk? As far  as  we  are  aware, INFINITE FRONTIERS are the
  22. only  group to offer Tobias such payments. Also, most stockists DON'T
  23. have the full range as we do!

  25. Unless otherwise stated, all the disks  below  will run on a standard
  26. 1MB Amiga. We haven't tested them all for compatability yet, although
  27. we would be only  too  happy  to  try  to  resolve  any problems with
  28. individual disks/offer replacement  titles.  If  you  order any disks
  29. and they DO work, we'd be really grateful if you could let us know so
  30. we can keep our records up-to-date.

  72.       This disk, "Star Trek",  is  the  only  DPaint animation in the
  73.       entire Agatron range and is  an  animation featuring art, ships
  74.       and  animation  from  Tobias's  Star  Trek  game,  including  a
  75.       sequence  showing  a  fleet  of   ships   flying  past  on  the
  76.       viewscreen on the bridge of the Enterprise.

  78. A17 - Animation Disk 17

  81.  
  82.       Two short animations on this disk, both "inspired" by scenes in
  83.       the Trek  movies. The first  is  "The  Wrath  Of Khan" and is a
  84.       rather bland  animation  featuring  an  overhead  view  on  the
  85.       Enterprise flying above the Reliant.  The other is much better,
  86.       seeing the scene from  Star  Trek  III  where the Grissom flies
  87.       through space and approaches the Genesis planet.

  89. A19 - Animation Disk 19
  90.  
  91.       This is Tobias's James Bond  animation!  It features the famous
  92.       Lotus driving down a cliffside road, whilst avoiding being shot
  93.       at by gunfire from a helicopter flying overhead. Looped to give
  94.       the impression of a continuous chase sequence.

  96. A20 - Animation Disk 20
  97.  
  98.       Still  dealing  with  helicopters,   "Huey"  features  a  short
  99.       animation of a Huey copter  taking  off  from a landing pad and
  100.       flying towards a range of mountains.
  101.  
  102. A21 - Animation Disk 21

  104.       "Enterprise Docking" - Tobias's  interpretation of the visually
  105.       stunning scene  from  Star  Trek  III  where  a  battle-scarred
  106.       Enterprise  returns  home  and  enters  the  mammoth  orbitting
  107.       Starbase. The Enterprise approaches slowly,  the doors begin to
  108.       open...!

  114.       Probably Tobias's most famous animation,  this is the legendary
  115.       "Fleet Maneuvre" - a superb animation featuring the flight of a
  116.       shuttle as it flies in  and  around  a  small  fleet of about a
  117.       dozen assorted Starfleet vessels,  including the Enterprise. If
  118.       you've ever tried using Videoscape, you'll aprreciate the skill
  119.       that went into the creation of this animation.

  125.       This disk features a  single  animation  -  "The Run", which is
  126.       one of Tobias's more well-known  animations, following a police
  127.       car chase down a  very  busy  street.  Very  fluid movement and
  128.       looped to   give  the  impression  of  a  continuous  chase.  A
  129.       classic!

  143.       Entitled "The Porsche", this is  the first ray-traced animation
  144.       in the Agatron range,  and  is  a promotional animation created
  145.       by the author of Reflections  (the  software that Tobias uses),
  146.       Carsten Fuchs. It features a  Porsche  911  rising up through a
  147.       table top covered in an  assortment  of household objects. Very
  148.       impressive.

  164.       Just one animation this  time,  "In Memorium Gene Roddenberry".
  165.       This is a superb  ray-traced  animation  dedicated  to the late
  166.       Gene Roddenberry featuring fly-by  views  of  both the film and
  167.       TNG Enterprises, along with a  shuttlepod from the first movie.
  168.       Simply magnificent! Requires 2MB.

  171. SLIDESHOWS

  174. S01 - Slideshow 1
  175.  
  176.       Tobias's first slideshow is a  collection of hand-drawn images,
  177.       obviously looking crude when  compared  with  his more familiar
  178.       ray-traced work. The disk features a  short anim of the Agatron
  179.       logo, sound in the form  a  short  2/3 second looped sample and
  180.       22 NTSC-sized  images,  covering  all  aspects  of  sci-fi  and
  181.       fantasy including Star Trek and Star  Wars. Two of the pictures
  182.       also feature  simple  animation  created  using  colour cycling
  183.       techniques. Nothing  spectacular,  but  there  is  quite a good
  184.       picture of a Klingon Bird Of Prey in flight.

  186. S02 - Slideshow 2
  187.  
  188.       More of the same. This disk only features 16 pictures, again in
  189.       NTSC format, although 5 of  these  are  colour cycling, some of
  190.       which create some stunning effects. Another short looped sample
  191.       accompanies the art (8 or 9  seconds  from  the theme to the TV
  192.       series "The A Team"). Highlight of  the  disk is a superb image
  193.       of an AT-AT under attack from the Star Wars movies.

  195. S03 - Slideshow 3
  196.  
  197.       This is Tobias's first ever  ray-traced slideshow, created with
  198.       the German package Reflections. There  is no sound to accompany
  199.       the art, but as there are  15  HAM  images, all in a PAL format
  200.       (some using full overscan as  well)  I  can't see any reason to
  201.       complain! Mainly of  a  sci-fi/space  theme,  although there is
  202.       only 1 Star Trek related picture.
  203.  
  204. S04 - Slideshow 4
  205.  
  206.       Tobias's second ray-traced  slideshow  is  yet  another journey
  207.       into the world of science-fiction  and  it features a selection
  208.       of 16 HAM images,  many  of  which  are  in  overscan mode, and
  209.       almost half of them are devoted to Star Trek!

  211. S05 - Slideshow 5
  212.  
  213.       Not as many pictures this time (only  10) as the images are all
  214.       interlaced HAM meaning that they  are  twice  as detailed as in
  215.       previous slideshows.  Unlike  his  previous  slideshows,  these
  216.       images have also been  compressed  to  fit  even  more onto the
  217.       disk, offering even better value for  money. Half of the images
  218.       are devoted to Star  Trek,  the  others  catering for a general
  219.       sci-fi audience including a couple of Star Wars pics. Note that
  220.       for users of Kickstart 2.04 or  higher, the overscan images may
  221.       appear to  be slightly off-centred, although this doesn't spoil
  222.       the slideshow!

  224. S06 - Slideshow 6
  225.  
  226.       Only 7 pictures on this disk, but there is the welcome addition
  227.       of a rather slow, melodic piece of background music. All of the
  228.       pictures are of a sci-fi nature, with two Trek pics, and one of
  229.       the  general pics is a stunning  image  of a ship flying over a
  230.       fractal mountain range with a planet  in view in the background
  231.       - and it's all  ray-traced!  Tobias's utility for incorporating
  232.       fractals into Videoscape and  a  few  other packages as objects
  233.       for raytracing, called McFrac, can  be found on Agatron Program
  234.       Disk 6.

  254. AS1 - STAR TREK (15 DISKS)

  256.       A  mammoth  story-like  animation  from  Tobias,  created  with
  257.       Videoscape  for  Trekkers  everywhere.   A  lengthy  animation,
  258.       capable of running on 1MB  machines  by  loading in segments. A
  259.       must for collectors of Tobias' work.
  260.  
  261. AS2 - 2001 (9 DISKS)
  262.  
  263.       The second Agatron Animation special  to have been created with
  264.       Videoscape, this animation set follows  the voyage of a shuttle
  265.       from the movie 2001 - A  Space  Odyssey as it travels from it's
  266.       orbit around the Earth and it's subsequent approach and docking
  267.       with the space  station.  Some  very  impressive animation, and
  268.       all accompanied  by sampled sound, but the story lacks any real
  269.       "bite". The loading time  can  be  pretty unbearable for anyone
  270.       with a single drive!
  271.  
  272. AS3 - LANDING (4 DISKS)
  273.  
  274.       This is the only  ray-traced  animation  in the Special series,
  275.       and it features the flight  of  a  cargo transporter which flys
  276.       towards a space  outpost,  lands  on  the  planet, deposits its
  277.       cargo  and  flies  off.  Stunning   HAM  images,  although  the
  278.       animation is jerky on 68000-based Amigas. Needs 4MB!

  281. PROGRAM DISKS
  282. -------------

  284. Please note -  as  many  of  these  disks  contain  software that was
  285. written primarily for Tobias's own personal use, the instructions are
  286. in German and, as we haven't really  spent much time looking at them,
  287. we haven't figured out how to use them yet!

  295. P4 - The Ultimate Star Trek Game - Disk 1

  297.      This needs no introduction and this is generally hailed as being
  298.      the BEST  Trek  game  on  the  Amiga.  Miss  it  at  your peril.
  299.      Unfortunately, the instructions are  in  German, but it's fairly
  300.      easy to figure it out!  Enhanced  sound  for  Amigas with 1MB or
  301.      more. Amigas with even more  ram  than  that  have the option of
  302.      loading the entire game into ram!  The  second part of this game
  303.      can be found on Program Disk 5.

  305. P5 - The Ultimate Star Trek Game - Disk 2

  311.      I don't know the full contents of this disk, but it does include
  312.      a selection of IFF brushes that  Tobias  has used in many of his
  313.      ray-traced images. Now you  can  see  how  some  of  his art was
  314.      created! Also is a utility  called  McFrac - a fractal landscape
  315.      generator that creates landscapes  and  saves  them  in a format
  316.      that can be loaded  into  a  variety  of ray-tracing packages as
  317.      objects!!!

  323. M01 - Star Trek Megademo (1MB, 2 DISKS)

  325.       This is a two disk collection  of art, music and animation from
  326.       Tobias, featuring a Trek based piece of music, 4 ray-traced HAM
  327.       animations and about a dozen pieces of ray-traced art. Superb!
