  4. ¹Having  almost  not been able to sleep
  5. lately    looking   forward   to   The
  6. Gathering'94,  I  discovered  a  major
  7. disappointment   while   reading   the
  8. information-text    concerning    this
  9. event.  The thing that bothered me was
  10. that  the good old votesystem will not
  11. be featured at The Gathering.  Instead
  12. there  will  be a jury who will select
  13. the winner.

  15. Who   the   fuck   has  deceided  this
  16. brainless   idea?    As   far  as  I'm
  17. concerned,  half the point of being at
  18. a  party is to have the opportunity to
  19. vote  for the best demo, so the winner
  20. reflects   the   popularity   of   the
  21. attenders, and not of 20-30 volunteers
  22. that   could  likely  be  a  bunch  of
  23. buttheads that does not have a clue of
  24. how  a  good  demo  should  look like.
  25. Having  a  jury to judge the demos (or
  26. whatever), will leave the Gathering 94
  27. as  an  Oscar-show, the audience being
  28. passive,   and  nobody  really  having
  29. anything to do with the whole thing.

  31. In the info-text I also read something
  32. about  the  previous vote-systems made
  33. dissagreement  concerning the results.
  34. Of  course  the arrangers of the party
  35. can fake the results, or they can fuck
  36. up  while counting the votes.  but why
  37. should  they  fake?  As far as I know,
  38. the arrangers can't compete anyway, so
  39. I  can't  see  any  reason for them to
  40. fake the results.  I do also not think
  41. that  a good group like Crusaders will
  42. fuck up while counting...

  44. of  showing  demos,  playing mods etc.
  45. seems  to  be  very  nice.  The things
  46. will  be  shown  on  videos, DATs etc,
  47. wich   seem  to  be  a  very  reliable
  48. system.       Why      hasn't      any
  49. party-arrangers come up with this good
  50. idea   before?   Have  a  nice  party,
  51. dudes,  and  make  shure  to turn your
  52. back    to    the    PC-demos....
