  5. ¼Theres  a  problem  with the groups of
  6. today.Something  you cant quite manage
  7. to  put  down  in  words,though its so
  8. clearly  visible  you can almost touch
  9. it.  Call it lack of attitude, call it
  10. fear  of  going  your  own way,or just
  11. label  it  absent  popstar  quality,it
  12. still boils down to that little "extra
  13. thing"  that  is missing.So few groups
  14. today  have it that I was beginning to
  15. doubt  if  there  was  going to be any
  16. future  for  good  ol  rockn roll.That
  17. was,  before  I  heard  Simon  and the
  18. Supernovas.What  it  was  exactly that
  19. happened  that  very first time I went
  20. to   see   them   Im   not   so   sure
  21. about.Except  that something happened,
  22. man!Something  larger  than  life that
  23. is.The  audience  were  out  of  their
  24. minds,   almost   on   the   verge  of
  25. religious    exastasy,screaming    and
  26. shouting,dancing  and  clapping  their
  27. hands.And   then   the   band!A   lead
  28. singer,dressed  in a silver shirt,sang
  29. the  words  of the songs just as if he
  30. considered  the  whole  thing  being a
  31. primal  scream therapy session,and his
  32. only  aim was to see how fast he could
  33. sream himself out of his body,while an
  34. incredibly     heavy    rhythm-section
  35. combined  with  suberb wah-wah riffing
  36. and  hammond  power  chords backed him
  37. up.   The music grew louder and louder
  38. to the point where I just couldnt take
  39. it  anymore...Then  it  grew  a liitle
  40. louder  again,  and just when my brain
  41. popped  out with exitement it was over
  42. and  the band was gone with no encores
  43. ¶¼and  all.   I  tell  you,  if Ive ever
  44. experienced raw fucking power this was
  45. it!Talking  Raw Power as we are,brings
  46. us  not quite unexpectedly to what the
  47. the  band  sounds like.The Stooges.And
  48. Velvet   Underground.And  The  Who.And
  49. practically everything else that feels
  50. and   sounds   like   an  interstellar
  51. explosion.   If  my description of the
  52. Supernovas  make  you  feel  like they
  53. could  be your cup of tea,you might be
  54. interested in knowing they play Tranås
  55. somewhere  around  the 21st of May and
  56. Göteborg  a  month later.(Or whereever
  57. theyre wanted, for while I was talking
  58. to  the  band  offstage  they showed a
  59. keen  interest  in  self-promotion and
  60. urged  me  to include a contact adress
  61. for  people who might be interested in
  62. gigs  in  my  article).Simon,the  lead
  63. singer,says    that    whereever   the
  64. Supernovas  hit town,things will never
  65. be  the  same  again.The harvests will
  66. increase,the  fruits  grow larger,more
  67. children  will  be  born  and when you
  68. look  over  your  left shoulder in the
  69. twilight  you  just  might  be able to
  70. catch  a tiny glimpse of a troll or an
  71. elfin.Hmmmmm....I   dont   know  about
  72. that,but  I do know that Simon and the
  73. Supernovas  are a hell of a rockn roll
  74. band,and    I   hope   Ill   get   the
  75. opportunity to see them soon again.
