- c09Victorc07 got up from his chair, the only
- thing he really wanted to do now was
- to relax and chat abit. Just stay
- still and get charmed by c09Victorc07.
- He opened the door, outside stood
- c09Isabellec07. c09 Isabellac07 was about the same
- age as himself, 24 that was and living
- just next door.
- He'd been living in the complex since
- he was 19, c09 Isabella c07 already lived
- there when he moved in. He had been
- heavily in love with her for quite
- some years, but didn't manage to tell
- her. He'd tried so many times again
- and again, but each time something
- went wrong with the result of him not
- getting to tell her what really was on
- his mind.
- He'd always kept pretty much to
- himself. He didn't really have any
- friends, or atleast not anymore. He
- has had to move to where there was an
- apartment free. Even if that meant
- that he had to move above 1500
- kilometers - if he refused he wouldn't
- get no money help whatsoever, from The
- State. He had to leave, that did also
- include leaving c09Stevec07, his only real
- friend.
- He was very shy, which didn't exactly
- help him to win thousands of friends.
- He wasn't handsome at all, not the
- kind girls turned around and whistled
- after in the streets. And the two
- times in his life, where he'd pulled
- himself together to ask a girl in a
- disco if she felt like dancing, they'd
- just come up with some vague excuse
- and looked on him, like he was some
- strange disease.
- The last time he'd been out was... He
- hadn't been out since he was 21 -
- three years!
- c09Victor c07 lived a quiet life, and was
- quite satisfied with it too. His
- failure with Isabelle didn't haunt him
- no more. He had decided, about a year
- back, that he wasn't in love with
- Isabella anymore, and actually it did
- help. It was like he'd been fooling
- himself all the time, maybe he did
- only believe he 'loved' c09 Isabella
- c07because she had been the first woman
- ever being nice to him - including his
- slut of a mom.
- Yet c09Victor c07didn't know of solitude no
- more, he had c09Victorc07. He had himself.
- After buying the marvellous machine
- called AlterEgo he'd never felt so
- good, in his entire life.
- Eventhough Victor never told c09Isabella
- c07how fond he was of her (not to mention
- what he thought of alone at night),
- she knew. c09 Victor c07was quite sure. She
- simply HAD to; one so bright and
- beautiful simply had to knew -
- AlterEgo knew everything about him;
- when he was glad, when he was feeling
- sad, when he was hungry or thirsty.
- AlterEgo, as he had named c09Victorc07 like
- himself, was simply the best friend
- he'd ever had.
- He tried to stop the stream of
- thoughts going through his mind, when
- seeing Isabella standing there in the
- door. Especially he had to force
- himself not to think too positively of
- her - he might just trick himself
- again to believe that he was in love,
- and nobody could be interested in
- that.
- 'f4Hi,f1' he tried. She gave him a smile
- and stepped inside his flat. Who
- exactly did she think she was? Just
- barge into other peoples houses,
- without even asking for permission to
- enter first. He opened his mouth to
- speak up, but she'd already started to
- talk.
- 'f4So how're you doing Victor?f1' she
- wanted to know.
- 'f4ehh, fine but...f1' He really didn't
- have the time nor felt like talking
- cosy right now. He looked quickly
- over his shoulder, sending Victor a
- longing glimpse. He just wanted
- Isabella out of the apartment, so he
- could get back to his machine.
- 'f4I just wanted to ask you to some for
- dinner,f1' she said, 'f4I've made this
- terric THING and bought a bottle of
- wine too, so I thought you might
- wanted to...f1' Before she'd finished
- talking c09Victorc07 interrupted her. 'f4It's
- very kind of you, but I don't think
- that...f1'
- 'f4Ahh come on Victor, it's been a long
- time since I've seen you. I'd be
- cosy.f1' While talking she walked
- further into his one-room apartment.
- c09Victor c07 was about to get abit
- frustrated, before this.. this woman
- had knocked on his door, he'd been
- chatting with Victor having a really
- good time.
- 'f4What's that?f1' c09Isabella c07 pointed her
- finger atc09 Victor c07and walked closer to
- it. 'f4Alter Egof1' she read up loud.
- 'f4What's this machine Victor?f1' She
- looked at him real curious. She had
- no right to just come here, asking
- funny questions. c09 Victor c07 grabbed
- c09Isabellas' c07 arm to pull her out of his
- living room, it was time for her to
- leave now, and if her forehead was to
- thick to understand that, he simply
- had to give her a helping hand.
- 'f4Isn't it that computer-thing they
- call 'your perfect friend' on the
- 3DV-commercials??f1' She paied no
- attention toc09 Victorsc07 hand on her arm.
- 'f4Isabella, please leave!f1' He'd planned
- on just pulling her out of the flat
- roughly, but he wasn't that much used
- to being around humans anymore, and
- they scared him. The physical
- nearness between c09Isabellac07 and him made
- him weak, what should he do if she
- denied to leave?
- 'f4Have you bought this?f1' she asked,
- ignoring the painful look on his face,
- 'f4but why Victor, do you feel lonely?f1'
- He wasn't capable of answering,
- everything had been just fine until
- she'd come around starting to ask all
- kind of questions. He envisaged him
- being together withc09 Victor c07 again -
- alone.
- 'f4But I'm your friend Victor,f1' his
- fingers grabbed still tighter around
- her arm, 'f4what's wrong, you're all
- pale?f1' He felt his lips slowly
- starting to tremble, 'f4Av, your hurting
- me,f1' c09Isabellac07 moaned and tried to pull
- her arm away from c09Victorc07, but couldn't
- 'f4Let go of me, it hurts!f1' Butc09 Victor
- c07didn't let go, pulled c09Isabellac07 in her
- arm towards the door, pushing her out
- and smacking the door after her. He
- could hear her voice calling him from
- the other side.
- He rushed over toc09 Victorc07, almost fell
- into his chair and got the electrodes
- mounted to his forehead.
- 'f4What A bitch ha'?f1' The wellknown
- voice made c09Victorc07 relax abit, but he
- was still very tense. What gave her
- the right to interfere in something
- she didn't know anything about?
- 'f4Relax old buddy, you know humans,f1'
- c09Victor c07 said to c09Victorc07, 'f4You can never
- count on 'em now can you?!f1'c09 Victor
- c07shook his head while the pleasant
- voice kept on talking, 'f4You know mate,
- they're obsolete, these humans,
- obsolete I tell you!f1'
