  12. In Windows, programs are
  13. represented as icons, little
  14. pictures.  Highlight the title
  15. under an icon, by using the arrow
  16. keys.  If the icon you want is in a
  17. different window, hold the [Alt]
  18. key and press [W].  This opens the
  19. Window menu, and you can activate a
  20. different window from the list. To
  21. start the highlighted program,
  22. press the [Enter] key.
  23.     Almost all programs run in
  24. Windows.  Only one window can be
  25. active at a time, but many can
  26. appear on the screen simultaneously.
  27. To activate a different window, hold
  28. the [Alt] key while pressing the
  29. [Esc] or the [Tab] key.
  30.     These windows have several
  31. control features which are the same
  32. from one program to another.  In
  33. the upper left corner is a "System
  34. Menu."  To open this menu hold

  41. Within the menu are functions to
  42. change the size and shape of a
  43. window, end the current program,
  44. or switch to another.
  45.     To select an item from a menu,
  46. press the letter of the menu item
  47. which is underlined.
  48.    Some menu items are may be shown
  49. in gray, others are black.  Gray
  50. means that the item is not
  51. currently available.  If you select
  52. an unavailable item, nothing will
  53. happen.
  54.    The most important functions in
  55. the System Menu are:

  57. MOVE - When selected, a four-headed
  58. arrow appears,  Move it with the
  59. arrow keys.  When done press
  60. [Enter] and the window will
  61. reappear at the new location.
