  10. The way the display card handles
  11. graphics is to assign each dot
  12. location two numbers, one for it's
  13. horizontal position and one for
  14. its vertical position.  To put a
  15. dot in the upper left corner of
  16. this screen, the card would tell
  17. the monitor to put a dot at 0,0.
  18. And the lower right of this screen
  19. is 639,199. The middle is 320,100.
  20.    To draw a line, the card would
  21. tell the monitor to put dots at a
  22. series of locations. There are
  23. some more RAM chips on the
  24. display card to remember which
  25. places dots are to be located.
  26. The text character patterns of
  27. dots are stored in ROM chips on
  28. the display card.
