  1. Welcome to KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE Photo CD Access Plus 3.0 
  2. for WINDOWS software.

  4. This document covers installation instructions for:

  6. * Access Plus software.  This comprises two applications: Access 3.0, 
  7. which lets you display and modify high-quality photographic images
  8. that come on a Photo CD disc; and Player2.1, which lets you view 
  9. the photos on a Photo CD disc as you would view a slide presentation.
  10.  
  11. * Acquire Module.  This is a plug-in that lets you select, customize, and 
  12. import images in ADOBE PHOTOSHOP.
  13.  
  14. This disc also contains the ADOBE ACROBAT Reader, which you 
  15. must install to read document files ending in .PDF.

  19. TO INSTALL ACCESS PLUS SOFTWARE

  22. TO INSTALL ACCESS PLUS ON WINDOWS 3.1

  24. Check that the computer meets the system requirements 
  25. listed below.

  28. ** Before you install KODAK Photo CD Access Plus software 
  29. ** on a computer running WINDOWS 3.1 software, you must 
  30. ** first install WIN32s libraries. To install WIN32s libraries,  
  31. ** go to the directory START\WIN\WIN32S and double-click 
  32. ** SETUP.EXE.

  35. After installing the WIN 32s libraries, go to the 
  36. directory START\WIN\SOFTWARE\ACCESS, and 
  37. double-click SETUP.EXE.  Follow the directions that 
  38. appear on the screen.

  41. TO INSTALL ACCESS PLUS ON WINDOWS 95
  42.  
  43. Check that the computer meets the system requirements 
  44. listed below.

  46. To install KODAK Photo CD Access Plus software on 
  47. a computer running WINDOWS 95, go to the directory
  48. START\WIN\SOFTWARE\ACCESS, and double-click SETUP.EXE.

  56. For installation instructions for the Acquire Module, 
  57. please read the following file:

  62. TO READ THE DOCUMENTS ON THIS DISC

  65. Manuals and other documents on this disc have the extension 
  66. .PDF.  These documents, which will help you use the software,
  67. are located inSTART\WIN\SOFTWARE\DOCS.

  69. You must install the ADOBE ACROBAT Reader before you can read
  70. documents whose file names end in .PDF. 
  71.  
  72. To install the ADOBE ACROBAT Reader for WINDOWS software, 
  73. double-click START\WIN\SOFTWARE\DOCS\ACROREAD.EXE. 
  74. After the reader is installed, you can read any document
  75. ending in .PDF by double-clicking the document file.

  99. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
  100. ====================

  102. PROBLEM: SETUP.EXE DOES NOT RUN ON WINDOWS 3.1 SOFTWARE
  103. If the following messsage appears when you are
  104. installing Access Plus, you must first install the WIN 32s 
  105. libraries by running SETUP.EXE in START\WIN\WIN32s 
  106. on the KODAK Photo CD disc:
  107.  
  108. "Setup requires a different version of Windows.  Check to make sure 
  109. that you are running setup on the Windows platform for which it is 
  110. intended.  Error 102."

  113. KNOWN BUGS
  114. ==========
  115.  
  116. INSTALLATION
  117. In WINDOWS 95: An error message appears in WINDOWS 95 if you try to 
  118. install Access more than once on the same computer.  Use the
  119. Add/Remove Programs utility in the WINDOWS 95 Control Panel 
  120. to remove Access software before reinstalling it.

  122. In WINDOWS 3.1: If the WIN32S directory gets renamed or deleted, 
  123. the Access installer will not work. Install WIN32s before installing 
  124. Access software.
