-
- CVLT OF OSIRIS presents MicroProse's "The Art of Gaming" Electronic Press Kit,
- made for distribution at ECTS in September 1996. File system is dated
- 1996-08-27.
-
- This disc is another treasure vault of information on early versions of
- late-1990s games, including one unreleased title.
-
- Includes screenshots, concept art, rendered artwork, and press releases related
- to the following titles:
- * 1943: European Air War (referred to as "European Air War" in the shorter of
- the two press releases)
- * Falcon 4.0
- * Grand Prix 2 (also referred to as "Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2" and "Geoff
- Crammond's FIA Licensed Grand Prix 2" in the press release)
- * Grand Prix Manager 2
- * Guardians: Agents Of Justice (referred to as "Agents Of Justice" in the press
- releases on this disc)
- * Magic: The Gathering
- * Master of Orion II: Battle At Antares
- * Sid Meier's Civilization II
- * Star Trek: Generations
- * Top Gun: Fire at Will (styled as Top Gun "Fire At Will" in the press releases
- on this disc)
- * Transport Tycoon
- * X-COM: Apocalypse
- * X-COM: Terror From The Deep
-
- Guardians: Agents Of Justice was delayed several times, cancelled in 1998, and
- never released. This disc includes concept art, rendered 3D character models,
- and screenshots of the version that existed in 1996. Surprisingly, some of the
- same screenshots were used in gaming media articles written as late as 1998,
- even though the interface was updated several times in those two years.

-
- X-COM: Apocalypse for the PC was not released until about 11 months after this
- disc was created, so the material on this disc likely represents an early
- prototype of the game.
-
- Star Trek: Generations was not released for the PC until about nine months
- after this disc was created. The screenshots in the game include
- development/debugging data such as the framerate and unknown code at the
- bottom of the screen.
-
- Magic: The Gathering for the PC was not released until about seven months after
- this disc was created, so the material on this disc likely differs from the
- release build.
-
- The screenshots of Sid Meier's Civilization II are from a prototype build of
- the game indicated as "Beta 1.05" and dated 1995-11-21, four months before the
- game was released.
-
- Also includes video clips of interviews related to the following titles:
- * 1943: European Air War
- * Falcon 4.0
- * Magic: The Gathering
- * Master of Orion II: Battle At Antares
- * Sid Meier's Civilization II
- * Star Trek: Generations
- * Top Gun: Fire at Will
-
- In the same folder as the press releases, the disc also includes a corporate
- background document in Word and text format explaining that Spectrum HoloByte
- purchased MicroProse in 1993 and that the combined company is named Spectrum
- HoloByte, despite the factory-pressed CD-ROM and its packaging exclusively
- using the MicroProse name (including in the copyright statement).
-
- The case for the disc also lists a second set of titles under the heading
- "POWERPLUS", but there is no content related to them on the disc, and only
- room in the case for a single disc.
