  5. What is EZ-Mail?
  6. ----------------
  7. EZ-Mail is a mail reader/composer that let you manage Internet mail under 
  8. Windows.  The main purpose of EZ-Mail is to let the user read, reply, forward 
  9. and create messages. There are also other functions to simplify the reader's 
  10. task.  EZ-Mail is not a mail transport package or a UUCP system, it acts as a 
  11. front end to such package.  To send a mail message, EZ-Mail calls a third 
  12. party mailer program that does the transport part of the mailing process.

  14. Current directly supported systems are:
  15.     - UUPC/extended by Drew Derbyshire.
  16.     - FSUUCP by Fubar Systems.
  17.     - PC-NFS from Sun Micro Systems Inc.
  18.     - PC/TCP by FTP Software Inc.
  19.     - Pathway by The Wollongong Group Inc.

  21. EZ-Mail is fully configurable and may well support other systems.

  23. Since EZ-Mail is fully configurable, you may use your PC as a multi-user mail 
  24. system by creating as many users as you wish.  See the User setup section for 
  25. more information on multi-users.

  27. EZ-Mail's ancestor is WinMail.  WinMail is no longer supported and all users
  28. of WinMail 1.0 to 1.1a should now use EZ-Mail.  See the special offer below

  44. Bug Fixes:
  45.    o Error in FSUUCP mailer's arguments.  $S (sender's FNDQ) 
  46.      changed to $U (user ID).  If you use FSUUCP, you MUST make 
  47.      this modification using the Option|System Setup menu.
  48.    o Lower case meta-strings ($R) in mailer argument was rejected 
  49.      by EZ-Mail.
  50.    o Problem with address parsing with aliases.
  51.    o Sometime crash when mailing with long addresses
  52.    o The message list was not getting the keyboard focus when
  53.      auto-reloading the mailbox if no messages where previously
  54.      in it.
  55.    o Fix some inconsistancies in the help file.

  84. If you get an incomplete archive, please tell us about it and if possible
  85. try give us any info on the System, BBS, shareware vendor or others that
  86. distributes such an "illegal" version of EZ-Mail.

  88. If you obtained the short archive (the one without Microsoft's COMMDLG.DLL,
  89. WINHELP.DLL and WINHELP.HLP) and you run Windows 3.0 without these, you
  90. should get the full archive of EZ-Mail that includes the files.

  96. Installation:
  97. -------------
  98.    1) Ezmail.exe, ezmail.hlp, and all .pif and .bat should be copied to
  99.       a directory in your path.
  100.  
  101.    2) DLLs should be installed in your system directory (typically 
  102.       c:\windows\system).  Be careful with the DLLs.  Check to see if you have
  103.       versions of these and if they are older than the one distributed with 
  104.       EZ-Mail before overwriting them.  You should only keep one copy of these
  105.       files (the latest version) on your hard disk.

  107.    3) Go to the program manager and do a "FILE/NEW/PROGRAM ITEM" and browse for
  108.       EZMAIL.EXE.  EZ-Mail's icon should appear when clicking on OK.

  113. EZ-Mail is a shareware product.  If you decide on using it, after a reasonable 
  114. trial period (30 days), you are obligated to purchase a license for its use.  
  115. A license for the use of EZ-Mail can be obtained by filling out the Registration
