  5. What is Cinetic Mail Manager?

  8. Cinetic Mail Manager (CMM) is a mail reader/composer that let you manage 
  9. Internet mail under Windows.  The main purpose of CMM is to let the user 
  10. read, reply, forward and create messages. There are also other functions
  11. to simplify the reader's task.  CMM is not a mail transport package or a 
  12. UUCP system, it acts as a front end to such package.  To send a mail message, 
  13. CMM calls a third party mailer program that does the transport part of the 
  14. mailing process.

  17.     - UUPC/extended by Drew Derbyshire.
  18.     - FSUUCP by Fubar Systems.
  19.     - PC-NFS from Sun Micro Systems Inc.
  20.     - PC/TCP by FTP Software Inc.
  21.     - Pathway by The Wollongong Group Inc.

  23. Cinetic Mail Manger is fully configurable to support other systems.

  25. Since CMM is fully configurable, you may use your PC as a 
  26. multi-user mail system by creating as many users as you wish.  See the User 
  27. setup section for more information on multi-users.

  29. Cinetic Mail mamager's ancestor is WinMail.  WinMail is no longer supported
  30. and all users of WinMail 1.0 to 1.1a should now use Cinetic Mail Manager.

  37. Cinetic Mail Manager was formerly known as EZ-Mail.  Cinetic Systems has
  38. decided to change the name of the product because of possible trademarks 
  39. infigments with Shecora Associates' EZ-E-Mail(tm) and EZMailbox(tm).  
  40. We appologize to Shecora Associates Inc. for any confusion our use of 
  41. EZ-Mail could have caused.

  54. Changes for 2.1  (09/05/92)

  56.    o Change name from EZ-Mail to Cinetic Mail Manager.
  57.    o Now ask for a name upon registration.  This information is now displayed
  58.      in the about box when the program is registered.
  59.    o Fixed a bug with the creation of working files.
  60.    o Fixed a bug that causes a "- - -" to appear near the name of a user
  61.      in the "Change User" dialog when it souldn't.
  62.    o Fixed a bug when replying and including original from a "Unix type"
  63.      mailbox (Linefeed but no Carriage Returns) that was causing original
  64.      message to not break proprely on line separators.
  65.    o Fixed a bug when appending multiple message at the same time using
  66.      UUPC/extended.
  67.    o Fixed that was causing CMM to not recognize UUPC/extended
  68.      proprely causing problems with UUPC's message separators (^A^A^A...).
  69.    o Fixed a bug that sometime caused CMM to loop when starting the viewer 
  70.      when reading a message.
  71.    o With previous versions, it was possible to click on other messages while
  72.      CMM was saving some others to a file.  This caused the "s" flag
  73.      to appear next to the newly selected messages instead of the one really
  74.      saved.  Fixed.
  75.    o Opening the "About" box while loading a mailbox could sometime confuse
  76.      CMM causing the main window to display garbage instead of real messages
  77.      headers.  Fixed.

  79. Changes for 2.01 (14/04/92)

  81. Bug Fixes:
  82.    o Error in FSUUCP mailer's arguments.  $S (sender's FNDQ) 
  83.      changed to $U (user ID).  If you use FSUUCP, you MUST make 
  84.      this modification using the Option|System Setup menu.
  85.    o Lower case meta-strings ($R) in mailer argument was rejected 
  86.      by CMM.
  87.    o Problem with address parsing with aliases.
  88.    o Sometime crash when mailing with long addresses
  89.    o The message list was not getting the keyboard focus when
  90.      auto-reloading the mailbox if no messages where previously
  91.      in it.
  92.    o Fix some inconsistancies in the help file.

  128. If you obtained the short archive (the one without Microsoft's COMMDLG.DLL,
  129. WINHELP.DLL and WINHELP.HLP) and you run Windows 3.0 without these, you
  130. should get the full archive of CMM that includes the files.
