  3.      IBM OFFERS CURRENT AT SPECIAL PRICE FOR A LIMITED TIME

  6.      WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., May 14 . . . IBM today announced that
  7. Current Version 1.2, a powerful personal information management
  8. (PIM) software package, will be offered at the special price of
  9. 129.00, when ordered directly from IBM. IBM Desktop Software 
  10. (IDS) will offer this limited time promotion through August 31,
  11. 1991. The list price of Current is 395.00.

  13.      Customers may order Current directly from IBM, with a 
  14. credit card, by calling the Product Information Center at
  15. 1-800-426-7699. The Product Information Center can also refer 
  16. callers to their nearest authorized dealer. Current is also
  17. available from IBM remarketers and software retailers, who may
  18. have their own special terms and conditions during this 
  19. promotion period.

  21.      Current, introduced October 31, 1989, by IDS, runs in the
  22. Microsoft Windows 3.0 environment of the Disk Operating System
  23. (DOS) and is designed to help business users organize, relate 
  24. and retrieve text and graphical data quickly and efficiently.

  26.      Current's powerful design allows users to customize the
  27. program for specific applications. A predefined set of
  28. categories -- people, appointments, expenses, projects, etc.,
  29. is included with the product.

  31.      Current's graphical user interface allows users to display
  32. data in a variety of familiar formats such as a color-coded
  33. calendar, an address book, and color-coded Gantt (time line)
  34. charts that display quick overviews of projects and tasks. In
  35. addition, users can search for selected information from their
  36. data as well as view and print the information in a variety of
  37. formats.

  39.      Current 1.2 requires an IBM Personal Computer, Personal
  40. System/2 or tested-compatible with a 286 or faster micro
  41. processor, a 20 megabyte (MB) hard disk and 1MB of random
  42. access memory (RAM).

  44.      IBM Desktop Software, based in Milford Connecticut, is a
  45. unit of the IBM Applications Solutions Division. Its mission
  46. is to acquire, develop and bring to market leading application
  47. software for the personal computer.
