  12.    First Canadian Accounting Package for Windows Debuts

  14. July 19, 1990 -- Oakville, Ontario -- Intelligent Information 
  15. Integration today announced the release of the first Canadian 
  16. accounting software product that runs under the Microsoft Windows 
  17. environment. The product, Biz-Nix, is designed and produced in 
  18. Canada, with Canadian needs in mind.

  20. Biz-Nix is being distributed in Canada by Intelligent Information 
  21. Integration. ``The product fills a needed void in the Windows 
  22. applications market'', said Don Roy, Director of Operations for 
  23. the distributor. ``Only in the last year have the software 
  24. products become available that average users need to be able to 
  25. work in the Windows environment from nine to five. The basic 
  26. needs have been met for spreadsheet, word processing, 
  27. communications, database and, finally, accounting.''

  29. Biz-Nix is an invoicing and accounting package targeted towards
  30. the low and middle range of Canadian businesses. While providing 
  31. a wide range of capabilities, the software features a consistent 
  32. user interface and approach that lets users get up and running 
  33. almost immediately. According to Biz-Nix Chief Developer, Alex 
  34. Barrotti, the program is intended for those businesses that 
  35. ``wish to invoice their customers and have the computer take care 
  36. of the books''. About the user interface, he commented further 
  37. that ''Biz-Nix has ten control buttons that are characteristic to 
  38. every screen. These allow you to invoice a customer, collect a 
  39. payment, place a purchase order, or add a client in the same way, 
  40. using the same command procedures.''

  42. Anticipating the most-asked question for Canadian businesses, 
  43. registered users of Biz-Nix will receive a free GST upgrade in 
  44. the fourth quarter of 1990. The software includes management and 
  45. tracking of: Accounts Receivable and Payable, Customer database 
  46. and history, tax exemption, Order Entry, Inventory and Supplier 
  47. databases, cash sales, credits, refunds, banking transactions for 
  48. multiple bank accounts, Purchase Orders, shipping, receiving and 
  49. invoicing for services.

  51. The software is fully compatible with all operating modes of 
  52. Microsoft Windows Version 3.0 and uses the interface to advantage 
  53. in providing easy access to a wide range of business reports. 
  54. Among these reporting facilities are: Customer list and mailing 
  55. labels, on hand inventory list with costs, daily and monthly 
  56. sales reports, monthly commission reports, customer activity 
  57. reports and more.

  59. The Biz-Nix Invoicing and Accounting software is available for 
  60. shipment on August 1, 1990. The Windows 3.0 version of the 
  61. software is file compatible with forthcoming versions for the 
  62. Apple Macintosh and for OS/2 Presentation Manager. Projected 
  63. release for these versions is first quarter, 1991. Suggested 
  64. list price for the Windows 3.0 version is $450.00

  69. is making a special Introduction Package available to computer 
  70. resellers. The package consists of one Retail copy and one full 
  71. function dealer demonstration copy of Biz-Nix, for less than the 
  72. single copy retail price. In addition, Biz-Nix Software Inc. and
  73. the distributor will be working, in conjunction with resellers, 
  74. to present a series of in-store user demonstrations.
