To use this utility, the DOS files MODE.COM and DEBUG.COM must be
present on the remote system, and XPORT.EXE must be present on this
system. You must also have a null-modem cable connected between the
two systems, and know which serial port the cable is connected to on
the remote system (COM1 or COM2).
Press any key to continue or ESC to quit....
$Now enter the following on the remote system:
MODE COMx:96,N,8,2 <ENTER>
then,
CTTY COMx <ENTER>
(Where the 'x' in COMx is replaced by the port number)
then,
Press any key....
$Connection OK - XPORT.EXE will be copied into remote $
$
Is this OK (Y/N)? $I'm not getting a response from the remote system.
Check cable and serial port number, and press ENTER to continue.
NOTE: If the cable and port numbers are OK, and you are using a
cable that has DTR connected to DSR on the target system end of the
cable, try copying a file to COMx before issuing the CTTY command,
as described in XCLONE.DOC.
Press ESC to quit.
$Transferring XPORT.EXE, please stand by...
$I could not find XPORT.EXE - change the drive and/or directory
to where XPORT.EXE is, or copy it to the current location and
try again.
$Error encountered reading XPORT.EXE, aborting.
$Change the remote system to the drive and subdirectory that you want
XPORT.EXE to be copied into. (But be sure that the PATH is set so that DEBUG
can be executed from the default drive and subdirectory.)
Hit ESC to abort or any other key to continue.
$Transfer procedure complete.
