  2. It is possible to "test drive" SCOUT or SCOUT-EM before using CONFIG.COM
  3. to completely configure it.  To do this, complete the following steps:
  4.  
  5. Loading and running SCOUT:
  6.  
  7.       1.  Copy SCOUT.COM and SCOUT.000 into the SAME directory.
  8.       2.  Copy RUNFILE.COM into the root directory of the drive that
  9.           SCOUT.COM and SCOUT.000 have been placed on.
  10.       3.  Change to the drive:/directory containing SCOUT.COM and
  11.           SCOUT.000.
  12.       4.  Enter SCOUT from the DOS command line.
  13.       5.  Press Alt-F10 or the prime (~) key to pop up SCOUT.
  14.       6.  To remove SCOUT from RAM, pop it up from the DOS level and
  15.           press Alt-End.

  17. Loading and running SCOUT-EM:
  18.  
  19.       0.  You must have a minimum of 9 EMS pages (144K) of expanded
  20.           memory available.
  21.       1.  Copy SCOUT-EM.COM, SCOUT-EM.000, REMOVE.COM and RUNSCOUT.COM
  22.           into the SAME directory.
  23.       2.  Copy RUNFILE.COM into the root directory of the drive that
  24.           SCOUT-EM.COM, SCOUT-EM.000, and RUNSCOUT.COM have been placed
  25.           on.
  26.       3.  Change to the drive:/directory containing SCOUT-EM.COM,
  27.           SCOUT-EM.000, and RUNSCOUT.COM.
  28.       4.  Enter SCOUT-EM from the DOS command line.
  29.       5.  Enter RUNSCOUT from the DOS command line.
  30.       6.  Press Alt-F10 or the prime (~) key to pop up SCOUT-EM.
  31.       7.  To remove SCOUT-EM from expanded memory and RUNSCOUT from
  32.           normal RAM, enter REMOVE from the DOS command line.
