- It is possible to "test drive" SCOUT or SCOUT-EM before using CONFIG.COM
- to completely configure it. To do this, complete the following steps:

- Loading and running SCOUT:
-
- 1. Copy SCOUT.COM and SCOUT.000 into the SAME directory.
- 2. Copy RUNFILE.COM into the root directory of the drive that
- SCOUT.COM and SCOUT.000 have been placed on.
- 3. Change to the drive:/directory containing SCOUT.COM and
- SCOUT.000.
- 4. Enter SCOUT from the DOS command line.
- 5. Press Alt-F10 or the prime (~) key to pop up SCOUT.
- 6. To remove SCOUT from RAM, pop it up from the DOS level and
- press Alt-End.

- Loading and running SCOUT-EM:

- 0. You must have a minimum of 9 EMS pages (144K) of expanded
- memory available.
- 1. Copy SCOUT-EM.COM, SCOUT-EM.000, REMOVE.COM and RUNSCOUT.COM
- into the SAME directory.
- 2. Copy RUNFILE.COM into the root directory of the drive that
- SCOUT-EM.COM, SCOUT-EM.000, and RUNSCOUT.COM have been placed
- on.
- 3. Change to the drive:/directory containing SCOUT-EM.COM,
- SCOUT-EM.000, and RUNSCOUT.COM.
- 4. Enter SCOUT-EM from the DOS command line.
- 5. Enter RUNSCOUT from the DOS command line.
- 6. Press Alt-F10 or the prime (~) key to pop up SCOUT-EM.
- 7. To remove SCOUT-EM from expanded memory and RUNSCOUT from
- normal RAM, enter REMOVE from the DOS command line.
