  29.         DataScope is a powerful serial communications analyzer
  30.         designed as a high performance tool for software and
  31.         hardware professionals. Now you can eliminate guesswork
  32.         about asynchronous transmissions, connections, character
  33.         timing, and serial events without purchasing an expensive
  34.         hardware monitor.
  35.  
  36.         DataScope requires minimal setup. You can run the program
  37.         immediately, but be sure to print MANUAL.TXT and read the
  38.         basic setup chapters to identify the proper parameters for
  39.         your monitoring environment. Any of the files with .TXT or
  40.         .DOC extensions can be printed with the DOS "print" command.
  41.         For example, to print the manual, type  PRINT MANUAL.TXT  at
  42.         the DOS prompt.

  44.         Once you experience the user interface, you may wish to
  45.         build a monitoring cable to capture bidirectional
  46.         conversations and experiment with the more advanced features
  47.         of DataScope. Print CABLE.DOC for the diagram and pinout of
  48.         an easy to build, basic monitoring cable.

  56.         Files that are necessary for DataScope operation, and shareware
  57.         documentation files. Both groups are listed below for reference.

  59.         compressed file, depending upon how you received DataScope.

  87.                          The Shareware Concept

  90.         DataScope is distributed on a Shareware basis. You may use
  91.         DataScope without charge for the purposes of evaluating it's
  92.         usefulness and suitability to task. If you find DataScope
  93.         worthwhile, then you should order a registered version of the
  94.         program. Registered copies of the program do not require a logon
  95.         procedure, allow complete access to all program functions
  96.         without registration reminders and come with a detailed 130 page
  97.         user's manual, monitor cables and two serial connectors. An
  98.         order form is already prepared in ORDERFRM.DOC - simply print
  99.         this file, supply the necessary information and mail it in to us
  100.         with your payment. An invoice will be shipped automatically with
  101.         your order.

  103.         DataScope will soon have a protocol analysis language as well as
  104.         additional capabilities and enhancements, and as a registered
  105.         user you will be entitled to low cost upgrades to the newest
  106.         versions as soon as they are released. Most importantly however,
  107.         by registering your copy of DataScope (or any Shareware
  108.         product), you'll ensure the survival of the convenient and risk
  109.         free distribution method that originally brought you DataScope.

  111.         If you have paid a small fee to a Users' Group, "Software
  112.         Library" or "SIG" to receive this copy, you have NOT acquired
  113.         the registered rights or continued right to use DataScope. This
  114.         fee was for the convenience of obtaining the DataScope diskette,
  115.         and cannot be applied toward the purchase of a registered copy.

  118.         Shareware concept, without charge. You may not reverse engineer,
  119.         decompile, or disassemble the software. You may not rent or
