- pc pr
- release 1.30
- 2 Jul 1990
-
- SUMMARY:
-
- pc pr is a simple text formatter for DOS. Any number of files can be printed
- from the command line at a given time and the output can be sent to a file
- or redirected to a device, such as a printer.
-
- USAGE:
-
- The comamnd syntax is
-
- pr [-of filenam1.ext] file(s) [-of filenam2.ext file(s)]
-
- where [-of filenam?.ext] is the name of an optional device or file to
- print to. The "-of" option may be used a number of times to redirect the
- printing of a number of files to a number of differant files or devices.
-
- For instance, if you had three files, named file1, file2 and file3, and
- you wanted to print these out to two differant disk files the command to
- use would be
-
- pr -of file1.doc file1 file2 -of file3.doc file3
-
- You could have printed them out to two printers instead by using the command
-
- pr -of lpt1: file1 file2 -of lpt2: file3
-
- The files will be printed with 60 lines on a 66 line page, and will include
- a header at the top of the page. The header is double printed by overstriking
- and includes the filename, the time and date printed and the page numbers,
- the current page and the total pages. PR will read in your document and
- figure out the total pages by counting lines and breaking the page at any
- formfeed character.

- Shareware is a term for software that can be freely copied and
- shared. The term describes copyrighted software which the author
- supports and encourages people to copy and share. Shareware is
- like public television: the programming is freely distributed,
- but support from users is encouraged. The concept is based on
- these principles:
-
- 1. People want to try programs to see if they are useful.
- 2. Software authors can be supported directly by users.
- 3. Copying and networking of programs can be encouraged.
- 4. Commercial packaging and advertising is expensive.
-
- We encourage you to register your copy of the DOS pr program
- for $7.00. Registration has a number of benefits to you:
-
- 1. The current version with any enhancements or changes.
- 2. Telephone Support and minimal fee updates.
- Minimial fees cover the cost of media, shipping, handling,
- update preparation and taxes were applicable.
- 3. Thanks from all of us for your support and encouragement!
-
- You may call or write for support services. Unless the problem is
- relatively complex, you will get the best results by calling. If
- you write, please include a phone number and the times when you
- will be available. Our response to written questions is slower,
- We are available between 10AM and 5PM (CST) Monday through Friday, and
- sometimes on Saturday and Sunday and later during the nites.
-
- If your support call is not returned within a work day, please call
- again, we have differant holidays from other parts of the country
