  6. To install TreeTop, put your master disk in drive A and type "A:INSTALL".
  7.  
  8. Note: If TreeTop already resides on your hard drive and you wish to install
  9.       it FROM your hard drive, just type INSTALL from the subdirectory in
  10.       which the TreeTop files reside.  See file TREETOP.DOC for more detailed
  11.       installation instructions if necessary.

  26. This readme file is supplied with TreeTop version 2.43.  The bound manual
  27. supplied with this version of TreeTop reads version 2.31.  The primary 
  28. changes to TreeTop from version 2.31 to 2.34 involve minor coding changes to
  29. eliminate a conflict older versions of TreeTop had with some TSR programs
  30. and certain operating systems.  Additionally, the TreeTop logo has been
  31. slightly enhanced and the shareware (Registration Information) screen now
  32. shows the ASP logo, reflecting the ASP MEMBER product status of TreeTop.

  36. TreeTop Version 2.40 - 2.43    -- Added Features --

  38. 1)  TreeTop is now able to keep the file/directory/tagged status of
  39. MULTIPLE logged drives (fixed only) in memory.  This makes it possible
  40. for you to log in your hard drive "C", for example, tag files on C,
  41. then log in to additional hard drives without losing any of the
  42. information about tagged files in drive C.  You can instantly log back
  43. to drive C and pick up where you left off.  The maximum number of
  44. files TreeTop can now keep in RAM at one time is approximate 13,000 if
  45. you have the full 640K RAM on you

  47. 2)  TreeTop has been changed so that the highlighted bar on the File
  48. Service Screen is positioned at the middle of the screen when
  49. executing a PageUp or PageDown command.  This gives the user a broader
  50. look at the files below the highlighted file when paging through
  51. though the files.

  53. 3)  The algorithm for paging up and paging down through the Directory
  54. Service Screen has been updated to prevent too many directories
  55. entries from scrolling by.
  56.  
  57. 4)  The Speed Search feature (F4) on the File Service Screen has been
  58. updated so that you may press any arrow key as well as the ESC or
  59. Enter key to exit Speed Search.  An additional feature was also added
  60. that allows you to press the TAB key while in Speed Search.  The TAB
  61. key forces Speed Search to jump to the next file that matches the
  62. filename you have typed.

  64. 5)  The program used to view a file in ASCII form (V from the File
  65. Service Screen) was changed to work more efficiently and to show the
  66. users the Control-Z characters (if any) at the end of the file.

  68. 6)  The installation routine, INSTALL.EXE, was added to facilitate the 
  69. TreeTop installation.  This routine automatically copies your TreeTop 
  70. files to the correct subdirectory and optionally modifies your 
  71. AUTOEXEC.BAT file for proper operation of TreeTop.

  73. 7)  The installation program of version 2.43 now automatically installs
  74. TreeTop with your registration number.
