  6.      Installing SYSTEM MASTER

  9.            To install SYSTEM MASTER, execute the following steps as presented.
  10.  
  11.            1)  Make a Sub-Directory on your hard disk.  Call it SM.
  12.  
  13.                C:\> md c:\sm <ENTER>
  14.  
  15.            2)  Log the SM directory.
  16.  
  17.                C:\> cd\sm <ENTER>
  18.  
  19.            3)  Place the SYSTEM/DOCUMENTATION diskette in the appropriate
  20.                diskette drive, and unpack the SM_PROG.ZIP, SM_MENU.ZIP and
  21.                the SM_DOCS.ZIP files.
  22.  
  23.                C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_PROG <ENTER>
  24.                               -and-
  25.                C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_MENU <ENTER>
  26.                               -and-
  27.                C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_DOCS <ENTER>

  29.            All of the necessary system and configuration files should now be
  30.            operational.  Proceed to section 1.5 to start SYSTEM MASTER.

  32.      Starting SYSTEM MASTER
  33.      ----------------------

  35.            SYSTEM MASTER may only be run from within the directory in which
  36.            it resides.  If you attempt to run the shell from outside the
  37.            SYSTEM MASTER directory, necessary setup files will not be located
  38.            and error messages will be displayed.

  42.            You MUST use the following command to start SYSTEM MASTER:

  44.            C:\SM\> sm <ENTER>
  45.  
  46.            The system will either work incorrectly or not at all if any of
  47.            the other batch or exec files are run.

  49.      SYSTEM MASTER Documentation
  50.      ---------------------------

  52.            The SYSTEM MASTER Documentation takes advantage of the IBM
  53.            graphics character set.  If your printer is capable of

  69.            The SYSTEM MASTER documentation is Approxamately 116 pages
  70.            long.  Be sure to have an adequate supply of printer paper
  71.            handy.

  73.            To print the documentation (after the SM_DOCS.ZIP file has
  74.            been 'PKUNZIP'ed), enter the following:

  76.            COPY *.DOC LPT1
  77.  
  78.      SYSTEM MASTER Initial Security Settings
  79.      ---------------------------------------

  81.            When Shipped, the SYSTEM MASTER Security System is disabled.
  82.  
  83.            To Enable the Security System Perform the following steps to
  84.            the Letter:
  85.  
  86.                1)  Load SM.
  87.                2)  Press the 'F3' key to enter the User Profile Editor.
  88.                3)  Select the BROWSE Option.
  89.                4)  Select the EDIT Option.
  90.                5)  Enter the Appropriate Data as Prompted.
  91.                    A)  Your AccessLevel MUST be 99.
  92.                    B)  !!!  Don't Forget Your Password !!!
  93.                6)  Select RETURN to Exit the BROWSE Mode.
  94.                7)  Select EXIT to Return to the MENU Mode.
  95.                8)  Select the Configuration Menu Option.
  96.                9)  Select the System Security Toggle Menu Option under
  97.                    the SWITCHES Menu Pad.
  98.               10)  Press the 'F4' key.
  99.               11)  Enter Your Password as Prompted.
  100.               12)  The Security System is Now ACTIVE!!!

  103.           It you have already set the Security System Active and can't
  104.           gain Access to SYSTEM MASTER, the Security System has been
  105.           initialized with the PassWord 'SM31'.  Use this password to
  106.           gain access to SYSTEM MASTER then Press F3 to Establish User
  107.           Profiles for SYSTEM MASTER.

  112.           SYSTEM MASTER is shipped with it's internal COMSPEC variable set
  113.           as follows:          C:\COMMAND.COM.
  114.           If your COMSPEC varies from this, you MUST enter the configuration
  115.           menu and set the COMSPEC variable to it's proper value!  (See
  116.           Section 10 for detailled info on the configuration menu).
