- SI (System Information)
-
- Description: Tests your computer's configuration and performance. This
- command reports the results relative to the configuration and
- performance of an IBM PC/XT. IBM-XT compatible: Turbo <NUSIG01>
-
- Syntax: Version 3.0: SI
-
- Version 3.1: SI [/N]
-
- Version 4.0, 4.5: SI [(drive:)] [/A] [/LOG] [/N]
-
- Parameters:
-
- (drive:) The single-letter specifier (A:, B:, C:, etc.) for the hard
- drive whose performance you want to test. Follow the letter
- with a colon. SI does not destroy any information on the
- drive. If you do not supply a drive, SI does not compute a
- disk performance index.
-
- /A Skips BIOS tests. If you include this switch, SI does not test
- input/output ports, check the existence of extended or
- expanded memory, or perform a disk performance test.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- /LOG Displays diagnostic output as separate (not overlaid) output
- lines that can be redirected to either a printer or a disk
- file. You can send the output to a printer or a disk file by
- including the MS-DOS redirection character ()) followed by a
- printer name or filename at the end of the command.
-
- /N Prevents SI from testing memory and from reporting information
- about the computer's memory. Some computers will lock up and
- require rebooting if a memory test is performed; however,
- these tests do not harm memory. Note that early releases of
- version 4.0 do not process statistics about the IBM PS/2 or
- the VGA display mode.
-
- See <NUDI>.
