  2.  This file was my list of "things to find out." I figured if I threw it in
  3. maybe some of you would know some answers.  Any new information is always
  4. greatly appreciated, and I'll mention you in my CREDITS file too, eh?

  10.                          any others would be greatly appreciated)

  12. FAX boards              (I have the Calculus API.  Others welcome)

  14. the new proposed FAX API standard(s) I keep reading about
  15.  
  16. IBM 2.88mb floppy format (ID byte, sectors, tracks, etc)

  20. proprietary EGA/VGA video modes  (everyone seems to have some oddball modes
  21.                                   in their video boards.  More of a curiosity
  22.                                   than anything else, but beats collecting

  27. IBM Double Byte Character Set stuff   (this stuff is REAL NEAT.  There's maybe
  28.                                        two lines in the MSDOS Encyclopedia, a
  29.                                        word or two in Advanced MSDOS, nothing
  30.                                        in Undocumented DOS.  Microsoft won't
  31.                                        say anything, and IBM refers me to
  32.                                        Microsoft.  This is the way Oriental
  33.                                        versions of DOS handle a squidzillion
  34.                                        Korean, Japanese, and Chinese characters
  35.                                        by extending the ASCII code to two
  36.                                        bytes, giving lots more room.  But how?)

  38. Desqview/Topview/Omniview programming info  (I have a TopView SDK now, but
  39.                                              I'd welcome any DV/OV stuff)

  41. udoc'd MS Mouse calls        (I keep hearing reports of undocumented int 33h
  42.                               and int 16h calls in later versions of MS
  43.                               MOUSE.COM, but I can't track down anything in
  44.                               the versions I have)

  46. low-level tape drive stuff   (how can progs like PC Tools and Norton Backup
  47.                               talk to different tape drives?  I can't get
  48.                               anything at all from Archive, Colorado, or
  49.                               Wangtek)

  51. talker board APIs            (these are special boards for the blind. Some
  52.                               have fancy programming APIs)

  54. DOS redirector interface     (I've heard various stories on this, but the only
  55.                               people I've talked to who've seen it are under
  56.                               nondisclosure.  No help from MS yet.  Evidently
  57.                               I just don't know who to talk to)

  59. MS CD-ROM interface  (Microsoft wrote back and told me there isn't one,
  60. MSCDEX                I have framed the letter as a monument to incometency)
