- Instructions For Use of AMCOLOR.EXE
-
- Copyright 1990 by New-Ware
-
- Version 1.3
-
- The color configuration functions have been removed from ArcMaster
- and placed in AMCOLOR.EXE. Please note that AMCOLOR.EXE will not work
- properly with versions of ArcMaster prior to 4.60.
-
- To configure ArcMaster colors, a copy of AMCONFIG.BIN produced by
- ArcMaster version 4.60 MUST be in the same directory as AMCOLOR.EXE.
- The program is completely menu driven and supports configuration of
- the colors for the following displays:
-
- LEFT WINDOW
- RIGHT WINDOW
- DIRECTORY TREE
- ARCHIVE FILE VIEWER
- POP-UP MENUS
- POP-UP WINDOWS
- HELP WINDOW
-
- AMCOLOR will display a master menu from which a selection from the
- list above can be made. During configuration the display being
- configured is presented in conjuntion with a menu of items that
- affect specific areas of the display. Selecting an area display item
- will cause a color matrix box to pop up. Moving the cursor to the
- desired foregroung/background color and pressing ENTER will redisplay
- the menu and dynamically change the display area in the selected
- color. Pressing ESC while in the color matrix box exits without
- changing the color.
-
- Many EGA/VGA users prefer to use bright color backgrounds, so
- a menu item has been added to accomodate the selection of bright
- background colors. Selecting "Bright BG is OFF" will toggle to
- using all 16 colors for the background and selecting "Bright BG is
- ON" will toggle back to 8 background colors. Note that the color
- matrix will not display the extra 128 blinking colors when the
- bright background switch is set to OFF.
-
- After all configurable displays have been set as desired,
- selection of the "Save Changes & Quit" item from the main menu will
- save the color selections to AMCONFIG.BIN and ArcMaster will use the
- new colors if that copy of AMCONFIG.BIN is made available in the DOS
- path in accordance with the ArcMaster documentation instructions.
- Selecting "Ignore Changes and Quit" will exit AMCOLOR without
- altering AMCONFIG.BIN. If the bright background switch is ON when
- the colors are saved, AM will automatically switch into the bright
- background mode when loading AMCONFIG.BIN and will switch out of
- it when it terminates.
