- This is the Xlat 1.1 package for byte-to-byte translation of files
- and resident translation of data sent to a printer.
- The system is fast, small, and configurable.
-
- It comes with several sample files, documentation, and complete sources.
- And it's free.
-
-
- For more details, read the documentation, XLAT.CSR.
- (In case you're not a Vogon and can't make head or tail of it, type
- CAESAR /I < XLAT.CSR > XLAT.DOC
- and read the resulting XLAT.DOC.)

-
- What's new:
-
- Version 1.0 of ConfXlat had a stupid bug that could result in erroneous
- video page detection. Sorry. It's been fixed. Also, editing facilities
- are slightly better; but most importantly, you may now request directory
- listings before loading a file.
-
- Version 1.02 prevents the cursor from vanishing on colour systems
- (oops...). Also, the PgUp/PgDn keys weren't handled properly at all
- times. Now they are.
-
- Version 1.1 may be regarded, by some, as a major upgrade, while others
- won't even spot the difference: Now, there's a resident printer driver
- flavour of Xlat in addition. There is a new command-line driven utility
- that complements menu-operated ConfXlat.
