- Several months ago I decided to discontinue upgrading Swiss Army Shell.
- The last official release was version 2.4.
-
- Swiss Army Shell will continue to be Shareware, with the stipulation
- that there will be no future upgrades.
-
- Version 2.41 is a re-release of 2.4 with an increase in the directory
- limit to 150.
-
- There are a few known bugs in Swiss Army Shell that I have simply not
- had time to catogorize and clobber. There are no known bugs that will
- cause damage to files or directories (unless of course you tell SAS
- to do so!).
-
- Although naturally I consider Swiss Army Shell to be an excellant file
- management program, sales have not covered a tenth of the time and
- expense of writing and maintaining the program. I am entirely too
- busy (50+ hr/wk job + wife + kids) to spend any time continuing
- development of a non-profitable product. Besides, it already does
- almost everything I want it to do, and the feature creature has an
- endless appetite.
-
- This does not mean that I am releasing Swiss Army Shell to the public
- domain. I continue to solicit registrations since I feel that it
- is a useful program that is worth much more than the registration fee.
-
- Many thanks to the people who have registered Swiss Army Shell. I
- appreciate your support, and will continue to provide phone support
- as long as anyone asks.
