  8. Simple viewer for taking quick looks inside dBASE-compatible .DBF files in
  9. record and browse modes.  Does single-field, scan-across searches.  File
  10. header info, including field definitions, can be displayed either in
  11. interpreted (human-readable) format, or as hex bytes.  Editing of fields in
  12. both record and browse modes enabled by command-line switch.  New:  New
  13. searches automatically start from the first record.  The user may include
  14. default start-up switches in a configuration file.

  19. Shell for detecting files compressed by several executable file compressors.
  20. Employs external compressors and uncompressors (user-selectable) to
  21. transparently compress and uncompress files from within the program.
  22. Currently supported are AXE, DIET, EXEPACK, ICE, LEXEM, LZEXE, PKLITE,
  23. SCRNCH, SHRINK and TINYPROG.  New:  DIRX.CFG may now include command-line
  24. switches.

  29. Directory lister & utility for ARC ARJ LZH LZS PAK ZIP ZOO.  User-
  30. configurable to display either ZIP- or LZH-style compression ratios.
  31. Listings may be sorted by Name, Extension, Date, Original size, Packed size,
  32. compression Ratio, or left Unsorted.  Converts self-extracting archives to
  33. normal archives.  Various other options.  New:  Fixes innocuous bugs
  34. involving /R, /D and /U switches.

  39. Directory viewer & utility for ARC ARJ LZH LZS PAK ZIP ZOO.  Scrollable
  40. version of RView, with a different focus.  User-configurable to display
  41. either ZIP- or LZH-style compression ratios.  Listings may be sorted by
  42. Name, Extension, Date, Original size, Packed size, compression Ratio, or
  43. left Unsorted.  Employs external extractors and an external viewer (all
  44. user-selectable), to extract and view files from within any of the supported
  45. archives types.

  50. Update to one of my most frequently reached for programs.  Binary editor,
  51. with record orientation, which allows searches for either text or hex
  52. strings.  Changes from v3.01 include:  Default record size now set to
  53. maximum allowed by number of lines on screen.  (Maximum record size is 576
  54. bytes with a 50-line screen.)  The program draws from a common library of
  55. routines shared with other programs I've written.  Color or black-and-white
  56. mode automatically determined at program start-up.

  59.        TITLE:  ZIP Format View v1.10, 03/29/92

  61. Allows you to see how a ZIP file is laid out on disk.  Uses windowing to
  62. step down to lower levels of detail.  Displays header offsets and most field
  63. values, including their interpretation.  Admittedly, this program isn't for
  64. everyone.  For the curious and those with a need to know, however, this
  65. program displays technical data on ZIP files that I haven't seen in any
  66. other program.  New:  Select files for viewing from a pop-up, scrollable
  67. directory window.  Updated for ZIP 2.0.

  70.        TITLE:  Cyclic Redundancy Checker v1.20, 02/08/92
  71.   CompuServe:  IBMSYS/Lib 3                 - CRC120.ZIP
  72. Displays 16- and 32-bit CRC's of files or directory contents.  16-bit CRC
  73. same as for ARC, LZH, LZS, PAK and ZOO files.  32-bit CRC same as for ARJ
  74. and ZIP.  "CRC filespec" displays individual CRC's for the specified
  75. file(s).  "CRC path" displays accumulated CRC's of all files contained in
  76. the specified directory.  May be used to compare files/directories on
  77. physically separated machines, or to see if changes have occurred over time.
  78. New:  The functions of both CRC v1.14 and CRCDIR v1.00 have been combined
  79. into a single program.

  82.        TITLE:  DirX Command-line lister v1.08, 01/01/92
  83.   CompuServe:  IBMSYS/Lib 6                 - DRXC10.ZIP
  84. Smaller, simpler version of DirX for when you just want a listing of
  85. compressed and uncompressed files.  Listing is redirectable to printer or
  86. file.  Mimicks DOS's DIR command, to an extent.  No sorting is performed.
  87. New:  Extends recognition of files compressed with LZEXE (hacked headers)
  88. and DIET (additional headers).
