  9.     Please use this file to send in your order for a "registered" version
  10.     of CDP.    Or you may use the registration form that the "shareware"
  11.     version, CDPSW.EXE, can produce for you. If you already have a
  12.     registered version, then give a copy of this file to your friends.
  13.     Better, let them have a copy of CDPSW.EXE that they may try without
  14.     any obligation for 30 days.

  16.         Support for CDP is free and freely given, but resources are limited
  17.         until sales allow expansion. Written questions will always be
  18.     responded to.

  21.     This is sort of catch-as-catch-can, because the phone line is often
  22.     hooked into a computer, and there is noone present full time to
  23.     answer the phone.

  49.         My signature below affirms that I understand that all versions of
  50.  
  51.                         Cliff's Directory Program (CDP)
  52.  
  53. are copyrighted products of: GoodWare, 926 Leighton Way, Sunnyvale, CA,
  54. and that they are NOT in the public domain, or free. I am purchasing a license
  55. to use CDP and acknowledge that I have found the program valuable for my
  56. purposes. I receive the right to continue using CDP for my personal purposes.
  57. I will be sent "next day" a package containing 2 "licensed" CDPs (one with
  58. 2 trees), customization programs, and utilities. A complete user's guide will
  59. be sent to me as soon as it is published.
  60.  
  61.         I further affirm that I understand that all materials which I will be
  62. sent by GoodWare are also the copyrighted materials of GoodWare and that the
  63. same strictures as to copying and distribution apply to them as to CDP.
  64. I will not violate the following stricture:

  66. I am forbidden to copy or distribute CDP or any other materials in the CDP
  67. package for sale for profit or distribution in any enterprise for profit.
  68. Nor may I copy or distribute it for others to engage in such activities. My
  69. license to CDP allows me to use it only in the same way that a library may
  70. use a paper book that it purchases. One person at a time may use the product.
  71. Copying which allows more than one person to use it at a time is forbidden.

  73.         I also understand that GoodWare makes no claims regarding either the
  74. appropriateness or accuracy of CDP and other materials for ANY purpose; and
  75. I expressly relieve GoodWare of any responsibility for any loss of data or
  76. machine damage that may occur, for whatever reason, when CDP has been or is
  77. in use by me or others.

  79.         I understand that GoodWare gives me the following privileges:
  80.  
  81.     1. Because of the nature of computers and magnetic media, I may make
  82.     copies of CDP for backup and for my personal convenience using the
  83.     program; so long as all copies retain GoodWare's copyright notice.
  84.  
  85.     2. Other people may use my copy of CDP, just as others may read a book
  86.     that I own; but no more than one person at a time (including myself)
  87.     may use any copies I have made of the "licensed" version of CDP. I, or
  88.     they, MUST purchase additional copies of CDP in such a case.
  89.  
  90.     3. I may copy and distribute the "shareware" version of CDP to others for
  91.     their use and inspection, provided that such copies are ENTIRE copies of
  92.     the CDP "shareware" package, as described in "CDP-PACK.DIR", contained in
  93.     that package. If I make such distribution, I must make clear that CDP is
  94.     "shareware" and is not free; that it is distributed only for a 30-day
  95.     "try-out"; and that it must be paid for if it is used for a longer time.

  97.     4. I may resell my "registered" CDP package to another person, provided
  98.     that I destroy any other copies I may have made; and that I require that
  99.     the purchaser adhere to this same agreement as if were he who had
  100.     originally executed and entered into it.
