- Chris,
-
- A while ago I received and compiled a program from an old edition of PC
- Magazine. While I like the program I had some difficulties with it and I
- decided to enhance it as an adventure (mild) in assembly programming. The
- original code was PUSHDIR.COM and POPDIR.COM from the May 27, 1986
- Productivity -- Programming/Utilities section. I have made the code more
- like the UNIX directory stack commands, pushd and popd, and I have created a
- dirs command. I would like to distribute the code, but being that the
- originals were copywritten, I do not want to infringe on anybody's rights.
- Please let me know what I can do, and PC Mag's views on the subject.
-
- Thank you.

- Bill,
-
- As long as you intend to give it away to, say, coworkers there is
- no problem. If you intend to sell your program or include it in
- with other salable products then you need to license our code.
-
- If you do license it, I can tell you the fee is extremely small,
- almost only a formality.
-
- Ziff's licensing department is available at (212) 503-5448.
-
- Thanks for asking,
-
- Chris
-
- Action!
