- =============== FILE VIEWER MAIN MENU ===============
-
-
- The STADS File Viewer has three selections at this time, but a
- lot more are planned in the near future. Following is a summary
- of their features.
-
-
-
- {V} View File ---- This selection allows the user to view any text
- based file on their monitor screen. The user
- will be prompted for the name of the file that
- they wish to view. If this file doesn't exist
- on the drive specified or the default drive,
- the user will be made aware of it. Drive
- letters and paths can be included in the file
- name, but NO wildcards can be used.
-
- Once in the viewing area the user can scroll
- up, down, left and right in the viewing window.
- The page up, page down, home and end keys are
- supported. Also the user can use a mouse to
- view the text by using the scroll bars located
- at the right and bottom of the viewing window.
-
- Also included is a handy search routine,
- pressing F3 will cause a search window to pop
- up on the screen. Enter the text you wish to
- search for and press enter. The search text
- can be one word or a string of words. The text
- if found during the search, will be shown on
- the screen in context and will be highlighted.
-
- Pressing ESC will leave the search function as
- well as leaving the viewing window. At this
- point you will be returned to the main menu.
-
-
-
- {P} Print File --- This option will allow the printing of any text
- or ASCII based file.
-
- Support at this time is only for dot matrix
- printers, but laser support is to be added in
- the future.
-
- The user will be prompted for the name of the
- file that they wish to print. If this file
- doesn't exist on the drive specified or the
- default drive, the user will be made aware of
- it. Drive letters and paths can be included in
- the file name, but NO wildcards can be used.
-
- After the file is printed the user will be
- returned to the main menu screen.
-
-
- {Q} Quit Program -- This does just what it says, it will end the
- current viewing session and return the user to
- the DOS prompt.
