  10.           BKInput (the "SOFTWARE") is distributed as SHAREWARE.  The
  11.           SOFTWARE may be used and copied freely only for private use
  12.           subject to the following conditions.

  14.           1.   OWNERSHIP.  The SOFTWARE is and shall at all times remain
  15.           the property of Bill Hewitt (the "AUTHOR").

  17.           2.   DISTRIBUTION.  You may freely copy the SOFTWARE and upload
  18.           it to bulletin boards, on line information services, or give
  19.           copies to any other parties.  You may not charge a fee for the
  20.           distribution of the software other than a nominal (not to exceed
  21.           $6.00 per disk) distribution charge.  You may not distribute any
  22.           modified copies of the software.  This documentation file must be
  23.           included with the SOFTWARE.  You may not remove any copyright
  24.           notices, nor change the documentation in any way without express
  25.           written consent of the AUTHOR.

  27.           3.   USAGE.  Registered users will be granted a royalty-free
  28.           right to include the SOFTWARE in BASIC programs distributed as
  29.           SHAREWARE, FREEWARE, or released to the PUBLIC DOMAIN.  If the
  30.           SOFTWARE is used to produce COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE, a royalty of
  31.           $20.00 per copy of the COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE that is distributed in
  32.           any form will apply.  COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE, for the purposes of
  33.           the previous language, shall be defined as any program, or group
  34.           of programs, for which the end-user is required to pay a fee
  35.           before use.  So-called SHAREWARE in which the unregistered
  36.           version is different from the registered version (other than a
  37.           request for registration) shall be subject to the same royalty
  38.           requirements as COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE.  In other words, if you
  39.           distribute you product as "crippleware", you must pay me $20.00
  40.           for every copy in existence.  Better you should use someone
  41.           else's tools to create your product.

  54.           LIMITED WARRANTY
  55.  
  56.           LIMITED WARRANTY.  The AUTHOR warrants ONLY TO REGISTERED USERS
  57.           that (a) the SOFTWARE will perform substantially in accordance
  58.           with the accompanying documentation for an unlimited period of
  59.           time.  Any implied warranties are limited to 90 days.  Some
  60.           states do not allow limitations on duration of an implied warran-
  61.           ty, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  63.           CUSTOMER REMEDIES.  The AUTHOR's entire liability and you exclu-
  64.           sive remedy shall be, at the AUTHOR's option, either (a) return
  65.           of any registration fee paid or (b) repair or replacement of the
  66.           SOFTWARE that does not meet the AUTHOR's Limited Warranty.  This
  67.           Limited Warranty is void if failure of the SOFTWARE has resulted
  68.           from accident, abuse, or misapplication.  THESE REMEDIES ARE NOT
  69.           AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

  71.           NO OTHER WARRANTIES.  The AUTHOR disclaims all other warranties,
  72.           either express or implied, including but not limited to implied
  73.           warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular
  74.           purpose, with respect to the SOFTWARE and the accompanying
  75.           written materials.  This limited warranty gives you specific
  76.           legal rights.  You may have others, which vary from state to
  77.           state.

  79.           NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  In no even shall the
  80.           AUTHOR be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without
  81.           limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business
  82.           interruption, loss of business information, or other pecuniary
  83.           loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use the SOFTWARE,
  84.           even if the AUTHOR has been advised of the possibility of such
  85.           damages.  Because some states do not allow the exclusion or
  86.           limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages,
  87.           the above limitation may not apply to you.
