- SECTION I
- DESCRIPTION OF PRESENTATION MANAGER DRIVER
-
- Contained in this package are the Presentation Manager display
- driver files:
-
- For Microsoft OS/2 V1.1:
- PM11-54B.DLL 800x600 16-color
-
- For Microsoft OS/2 V1.2, 1.21 or IBM OS/2 V1.3:
- PM12-54B.DLL 800x600 16-color
- PM12-55B.DLL 1024x768 16-color
-
- In addition there is a common base driver:
- PM$BASE.SYS
-
- To use a driver, a monitor capable of displaying the selected
- resolution must be installed and the video card must be
- configured for that monitor. Consult your manuals for
- configuration instructions.
-
-
- SECTION II
- INSTALLATION OF PM DRIVER
-
-
- IMPORTANT: Before you begin the installation using either one
- of the following methods, make sure that OS/2 and Presentation
- Manager have been installed properly and configured for IBM VGA.
-
-
- AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION
- ----------------------
-
-

- diskette drive, say A:, and type the following commands:
-
- A:

- boot disk and modifying the CONFIG.SYS file. Follow these steps:
-
- 1) Create a directory called VGADLL on the boot disk. Insert this
- diskette into a floppy diskette drive. The following steps
- assume boot disk C: and floppy diskette drive A:.
-
- 2) Copy the base driver to the VGADLL directory.
-
- Example: COPY A:PM$BASE.SYS C:\VGADLL
-
- 3) Copy the appropriate Presentation driver to the VGADLL
- directory as DISPLAY.DLL.
-
- Example: COPY A:PM12-54B.DLL C:\VGADLL\DISPLAY.DLL
-
- 4) Using a text editor, edit the file CONFIG.SYS in the root
- directory of the boot disk and add the following line to the
- end of the file.
-
- DEVICE=C:\VGADLL\PM$BASE.SYS
-
- 5) Locate the line beginning with the word 'LIBPATH' in the file
- CONFIG.SYS. LIBPATH specifies the search path used by OS/2 to
- locate the Presentation Manager's dynamic link library
- modules. Modify the path that the directory VGADLL becomes the
- first in the list.
-
- Example: LIBPATH=C:\VGADLL;C:\OS2\DLL;C:\;C:\MYDLLL;
-
- 6) Save and exit the new config.sys file and reboot the system
- now.
-
