  5. 23 May 91 Configr: MailOut filename, Save Filename will have the novell mail
  6.                    directory filled in if blank.
  7.           Pconfig:  Fixed bug that caused it to die if in 50 line mode.
  8.           Postman:  Fixed bug that caused it to fail if <SPACES> were
  9.                     contained in the VIEW.MBX file.
  10.           VIEW: You can now have a default configuration for the lan.  Copy a
  11.                 sample MAILER.CFG to  \VIEW\DEFAULT.CFG.  New users of the LAN
  12.                 Mailer will have their initial setup copied from
  13.                 \VIEW\DEFAULT.CFG.

  15. 16 May 91 View:  Lan version:  Auto-Mailbox updating is disabled while
  16.                  you are composing messages.  This resolved a problem that
  17.                  caused the screen to look 'messed-up' if things started to
  18.                  happen while you were doing other things.

  20.                  The '?' now displays how many copies of the Mailer are being
  21.                  used on the network.

  23. 7 May 91 Postman/View:  Fixed a problem that occurred if the Novell userid was
  24.                         greater than 8 characters.  Postman now reads
  25.                         \VIEW\ALIAS file to convert 8 character name into
  26.                         longer novell name (IE: supervis supervisor)

  28. 3 May 91 Postman: Fixed a problem that stopped postman from using userids with
  29.                   no fullname specified in the SYSCON.

  31. 12 March 91  View: Fixed a problem with screen updating when a novell broadcast came
  32.                    in while new mail was arriving.  Increased mailbox size
  33.                    from 175 messages to 300 messages (only the oldest 300 are
  34.                    shown, newer messages are not lost of course)

  36. 10 March 91  Add-on:  The MAILER.CFG variable is checked and used.
  37.              VIEW:  Auto-update bug fixed; when mailbox is empty.

  40. 5 March 91  VIEW/POSTMAN:  Lan Version:  Semaphores are used to lock files.
  41.                       This change stopped difficulties with view & postman
  42.                       both trying to lock files at the same time.

  44.             VIEW: All $$MAIL$$.TMP files have been changed to userid.TMP
  45.                   This allows more than one copy of the stand-alone view to
  46.                   run on a shared volume.  In the past, each copy would
  47.                   clobber the .TMP files of another copy.

  49. 19 Feb 91 BROADCAST:  A new program.  Allows people to have a list of users in
  50.                       a file, and send a message to each user in this file.
  51.                       The difference is that each user only sees themselves in
  52.                       the header.  This is important when you are sending mail
  53.                       to huge user lists.  At this time, broadcast is LAN
  54.                       version only.

  56. 19 Feb 91 VIEW/CONFIGR:  New environment variable.
  57.                     SET MAILER.CFG=C:\SPOOL\MYNAME.CFG
  58.                     allows you to specify the full dos filename of an
  59.                     alternate configuration.  This allows you to have
  60.                     different batch files, call in different configurations.

  62. 19 Feb 91 POSTMAN:  Changed the way some functions were be called.  The result
  63.                     should cause POSTMAN not to 'hit' to servers so hard
  64.                     during its 'search_and_deliver' runs.

  68.                          under a heavy load.  Trying some different approaches
  69.                          to make locking more reliable.  This only affects

  112. 7 Nov 90   Postman:  Changed some network functions.  Postman scans much
  113.                      faster with the new calls.  Also added some error
  114.                      trapping.

  116. 30 Oct 90  Postman:  Fixed bug that sometimes caused new mail notification not
  117.                      to be sent to the user.

  119.            VIEW&CHECK:  date/time is pulled from the file server and the
  120.                         workstation clock is updated.

  122.            VIEW&CONFIGR:  You can specify a default path/filename for ALT-S.
  123.                           You can specify PageEject with ALT-P.
  124.                           You can specify that the screen should be
  125.                           automatically updated when new mail arrives.

  127.            VIEW (LAN):  Novell broadcast messages are trapped and displayed.
  128.            The last 5 messages are displayed instead of the little line at the
  129.            bottom.  The workstation continues to function instead of freezing
  130.            due to the novell (CTRL-ENTER to CONTINUE)

  147.                   erased.  Fixed problem of FROM: field in header if Realname
  148.                   is not filled in.  View used to leave "" in the FROM: field.

  152.            VIEW:  Fixed bug in parsing Reply-To: field when replying to
  153.            messages.   View properly positions the cursor when composing new
  154.            messages if you use QE.EXE or EMACS.EXE as the editor.   Fixed bug
  155.            that caused 'keep outmail?' to be turned off.  Lines containing
  156.            equals signs '===========' are not removed except if they are in
  157.            the message header.  View can now run batch files as viewer/editor.

  159. 31 Aug 90  POSTMAN:  Users of View can turn off 'notification' of new mail.

  161.            VIEW:  Add-On manager can now load batch files, not just executables.

  171. 29 Aug 90  VIEW: Added locking/unlocking routines so that new mail can arrive
  172.            while in mailbox.  View releases the mail file when it is not using
  173.            it, and checks to see if 'busy' before locking again.

  175.            VIEW will now read \view\alias  This will allow master user
  176.            lists to be created. (lan version)

  178.            VIEW: The "/" key or the right mouse button will display a menu
  179.            on-screen.  The menu displays misc functions.

  181.            The file I/O routines have been changed for faster access.
  182.            Most files are read at least 3 times faster.

  184.            ADD-ON:  Fixed bug which caused add-on to hang the computer if
  185.            called from the lan version of view.

  187.            Most View programs will now try to auto-detect the video card to
  188.            see if color is available.   C> ProgramName /B    overrides color
